This shunning video is a sad desperate clammer to hold onto whomever they have left. Desperate! It is just sickening how they tie being loyal to God with answering your own childs call! If something like that doesnt open peoples eyes, and make them take a moment to THINK (a difficult thing to do in the org) then nothing will...

My thoughts on the shunning part at the convention
by stuckinamovement inthe wts has gone off the rails and is "unrepentantly" hateful.
they are blatantly requiring mothers and fathers to disown/hate their own children that they have loved and cared for since birth simply because they don't comply with the orgs demands.
how is this love?

Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

So unfortunately, despite you trying to avoid it, Sh*t just got REAL!
Your mom is technically obligated to 'tell', and believe me, I know how ridiculous it sounds and the reasoning behind it is so convoluted that it's funny. My own father threatened to tell the elders about my 'worldly' boyfriend (back in the day) if I didn't let the man GO...I mean, come on. Do you know how hateful it is to have your own parent try to force you to tell your private business?!

CHILD BAPTISM
by megabyte_vijay init is strange to read the last week watchtower that encouraging child/teenagers' baptism.
even jesus was baptised as his 30. jws encouraging marriages at an older age.
but why they are encouraging children to get baptised.

I remember being at an assembly where a young girl who was 9 got baptized...of course she had a part in the assembly about how it was HER decision, her dedication, she was SOOOO ready. And now, I smh cause I wonder what ever happened to that girl once her hormones kicked on. Lol!
My biggest argument to my folks when I got df'd and the one thing my mother threw in my face was "you did not live up to your dedication"?! And my response was...
"I got baptized at 14. I wasnt old enough to date, get married, have a ft job, drive a car, have a drink at a bar, or live on my own. BUT Im held to a dedication to a religion I made as at that same age? Back when all I knew was about reading books from black authors, computers, and having crushes on boys? Please!!!"

My brother died last night
by LisaRose ini found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.

Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

Straight absolute malarky...hahaha! I just smh when I read this stuff, cause it is such a lie. When I confessed, I confided in the elders all the nonsense taking place that I was aware of, thinking it would clear MY conscience and help the others who were "sinning". What happened to me? DF'd
What happened to them? NOTHING!! The guy is an elder, his wife (married in the Khall and all) is a reg pioneer, they have 2 kids are are living the full JW life. But when the elders questioned them about all their wrongdoing - which all took place in MY home cause they lived with me as a couple before getting married - they denied it all and called me a liar. The eldees bought it, and that was that.
14 Kindness can help you to deal with aconflict of loyalties. For example, youmay have definite knowledge that a certain fellow believer is guilty of seriousmisconduct. You may feel loyal to him, especially if he is a close friend or a relative. But if you were to cover up thewrongdoing, you would be disloyal toGod. Of course, your loyalty to Jehovahshould come first. So like Nathan, bekind yet firm. Urge your friend or relative to seek the help of the elders. If he or she does not do so within a reasonableperiod of time, loyalty to God shouldmove you to report the matter to the elders. In doing this, you are being loyal to Jehovah and kind to your friend or relative, for Christian elders will try to readjust such an individual with mildness. —Read Leviticus 5:1; Galatians 6:1.

I enjoy this site because it keeps me in the loop with what is going on in the org. BUT...reading about JW things now - things I used to deem normal - is so weird to me. A lot of the principles, hypocrisy, tactics of manipulation. All of those things scream 'fake' to me, and from the outside looking in, it is so funny to witness how crazy it all looks/sounds -

what do you think is the main reason why so many young ones are waking up?
by Crazyguy inseems as though the number of baptisms even for the young ones is down from what people report here.
at my former hall the young ones are all in totally sheltered even while going to school.
expressing thier desires to pioneer etc.
