i would like to know a simple answer to a question of mine.
why is it that the jw's preach that adultery is a sin and that they believe that it is a bad thing when most of the time they people you talk to eventually have committed the sin and are then reinstated back into the congregation.
how can a person who tries to do what is right is ostracized and treated like an outcast simply because they are not baptized and they other who is baptized commits adultery and it then welcomed back with open arms?
I can see the adultery issue hurts you very much. I can't imagine what you are going through. I wish I had the words to comfort you. As you know, I was thrown out because I wear a beard. Even though the Elders approved the beard in 1997. In 1999 two men that were very close to three of the seven Elders in my former congregation, started complaining about it. They got their way, because I have never been back since August 2000. If they ever talk to me again, I have a letter of dissassociation ready for them. I don't understand how adultery can be tolerated, and other things not condemed in the bible can't be. I hope somebody can soothe your pain you feel. I hope you will hang around the board, most people here are good people. Most here just want to have fun and learn about how to live a normal life outside the society. I hope you have a good day.

for me it happened a few days before christmas of last yr. it was right after my roommate purchased his computer.
i looked up jehovah on ms encarta, clicked on a link and as they say the rest is history.. i had just lost my job so i was able to spend a lot of time researching and looking into all kinds of shit.

Unfortunitly the Society would never admit it is wrong. It might over time allow more and more fractional ingredients of blood. However, admit they are wrong, never. They couldn't admit they were wrong to tell me I can't wear a beard. I will never get an apology from them. All we can hope for, is God will hold them acountable for their bloodshed regarding refusal of blood.

My experience is almost the same. The Elders started complaining about my beard. Although 2 years earlier they gave me permission to grow it because of psoriasis. It was September 1999 that the complaints started. In April 2000, the evening of the passover, an Elder's wife got into a shouting match with me after the meeting about it. That was the last full meeting I went to. I went to 4 other partial meetings, but I just couldn't sit there and pretend I wanted to be there. August 2000 was the last meeting I went to. In May, I bought this computer and I started reading the truth about Jehovah's Witnesses. I bought Ray Franz's book, Chrisis of Conscience. After reading it, and giving it to my mother to read, I knew I would never go back again. Simply put, Jehovah's Witnesses is just another exclusive club and nothing more.

i strongly believe that friendship should be true and honest with no conditions attached to it.
if a person is a good person and lives according to the bible then what more could there be?
where a person chooses to worship doesn't make that person evil, what is on the inside of a person is what makes them special.

so on sunday i decided to put the smurf thing to the test.
the plan was to take a smurf to the kingdom hall for the public talk & watchtower.
if the smurf gets up and walks out all by itself then i know they are daemons and i should repent in sack cloth and ashes dedicating my life to god.

i was just wondering what do the members of this board think the biggest deception in the teaching of the watchtower society is?.
one of the biggest deceptions for me, one that stuck like a thorn in my side was their deception on earthquakes, hence my previous thread on the last days.
the wts, as i recall, published supposed proof of the increase in earthquakes since 1914. i was so angry when i found out that this was an outright lie.
The two things that did it for me was. In 1995 when the society changed the meaning of THE GENERATION THAT SAW 1914. I started doing my own research. Then I discovered the problem with 607. How it did not even fit the 1914 profecy. I quit going soon there after.

In my religion (cult) we will also forget that there are 365 1/4 days in a year. Just like the JWs do. (360*7=2520) I think I will start spreading my message right now. All I need is a new name for my religion (cult). Any suggestions? Also, I need to start doing reasurch on piramids to see what clues they might have to help me prove the new year of Christ's return.
