someone mentioned the jude quotation of the non-canonical book of enoch recently and i noticed the latest wt (9/15/01) article on enoch addressed this.
i also found a 98 reference to this which suggested that enoch was actually written after jude, a stance which they seem to have abondoned.
in fact, the whole thing seems like a very typical post-franz, 'we don't know, ok. stop asking us stupid questions' kind of response.
That sounds contradictory. First, they say that the book of Enoch is unreliable and full of myths. Then they say that because Jude was inspired that this one quotation from the book of Enoch is accurate. How stupid to reason that a book that is almost all fiction has one fact in it, therefore it can be quoted.

while, i was a jw, i remember that they told us that when the number of jw who go out will be bigger than the number of new jw who enter, it will be the great tribulation.
do you think that the gb will try to enter this idea in the mind of the jw?

after a long morning i was desparately hungry but too busy to go to a proper eating establishment.

now i not an expert in science but i believe rainbows have occured every since since light and moisture in the air have existed.. that would be way before the alledged global flood.. my dictionary describes a rainbow asan arch of prismatic colors found in the sky oposite the sun and caused by refraction, reflection and dispersion of light in raindrops.. my dictionary describes rain this way the condensed vapor.

I thought maybe I would help out the Society with some new light. I figured they could say that the rivers mentioned in the garden of eden could now be small oval shaped lakes. The water could just come up from underground and lay in the hole. However, the Society is on it's own when they explain how the water did not evaporate.

Guys, what do you call a river that does not flow. A lake, maybe we are so imperfect that the bible mistranslated the word into river when it should have been a lake. Ah hell, what do I know?

recently, the bonham, texas issue was discussed and comments were made that when the jws lost the hall in 1986 that the society then took deed ownership of kingdom halls to prevent another case like bonham from happening.. i challenged this as not being universally true, because long after the bonham case, i kept congregation files and we never made any deed transfers to the society, nor change our non-profit association charter to make the society a beneficiary in trust.. what i did yesterday: i am frequently involved with courts, judges, and legal matters, property titles, etc.
i checked on a kingdom hall at random near my office.
i ran a deed search and the title came up as being owned by the local congregation of jehovah's witnesses, and no mention was made of the watch tower society or any subsidiary corporations.. further, the kingdom hall in my analysis was purchased not long ago, but long after the bonham case.
Thanks for the reliable information. I did not think the Kingdom Halls around here were owned by the society. I did know that the society was a lein holder on the one nearest me, but the Kingdom Hall still belonged to the congregation.
