  If you had to, what religion would you choose to be?

  you can answer this as seriously (lt) or as inanely (buttlight) as you like!

  i was reflecting having read someone's thread about blowing off non jw family that actually it would have been so much better if i had a larger family, preferably not completely jw saturated and this random train of thought led me to thinking that if i could choose i would be catholic, because then i would have a huge family, go to really nice gothic churches with lots of candles and tortured saints and be able to go to confession (instead of lt's mobile).

  also the colours of the whore of babylon always were a lot more enticing to me than the mild blues and undistracting beiges of the khs.. i think we all have religions which would suit our personalities so much better.

  I would join Pastor William Rennick's Joyful Union Congregation. I hear his christmas pagent with the flying baby Jesus was a memorable event.

  You no longer need to be a JW to get into the New System..???

  when i lived farther up country..i had a car load of dub ladys come to the ranch..i told them they supported an organization that would kill everyone but jw`s.thats what i was taught when i was a kid..they said "no",that decision will be made at armageddon..??

  ?..i figuered "theocratic warefare stratagey"..they were lying to me!.....i talked to my mom a few years later and made the same comment..she said "no,that decision will be made at armageddon.??

  ?.this is the person that taught that doctrine to me.i just rolled my eyes.more "theocratic warefare stratagey".that woman woud lie in a heart beat for the wbt$.....yesterday the subject came up on a thread and hillary_step said the comment is true.....hillary and i have been friends for years,he totally blew me away..i could`nt believe what i was reading..he said the change had been made in the "90`s".....so now i have some questions for those who are more up to date on this subject than i..hillary_step,if your kick`n around please chime in.......#1:when did the wbt$ decied to quit preaching only the jw`s would get into the new system?..#2if you no longer need to be a jw to get into the new system,why bother?..#3:dieing at armageddon because your not a jw,was a gun to your head to join the jw`s.what do they use now?.....this isn`t the same religion i walked away from decades ago..this,the un scandel,the generation change,blood factions now acceptable..the wbt$ is morphing before our eyes and jw`s dont see it..lol!

  I don't know much about Gog and Maytag, but I think one of them is a thingy that washes shirts and stuff.

  Maybe Gog was the name of the Maytag repairman who sat around and did nothing day after day.

  so, i'm downtown quite early the other morning while still dark and i see a man holding an awake.

  so, i pull over and wave him over.

  after a few words of cordiality, i ask him why jehovah's witnesses teach that jesus returned invisibly in 1914 when jesus himself said this:in matthew 24:.

  The passing of the bread and winereplaced the annual Passover Meal for the true Christian, who at that time was a Jew, as was Jesus. The heavenly hopes for Samaritans and Gentiles wasn't granted until later, unless I'm a liar. God knows.

  No, I'm pretty sure the eating of the bread and wine replaced the Passover Meal for the true Christian.

  Christians - Does a JW baptism count as Christian?

  i tend to accept that mine did - i was baptised prior to the changes that made one a 'watchtower disciple'.

  my dedication was and is to god - prob the reason i am finally out.. opinions?.

  I would say perhaps not...

  JWs don't accept the baptisms of other christian religions, so the same is probably true in reverse.

  I liked how the "brother" of color worked by himself.

  Years ago some JW had a cartoon showing armageddon with all the blood and gore, followed by a beautiful Earth full of JWs. When the link was posted here, it got pulled off the web. I wonder if the same will happen to this one.

  It's really a shame to have talented people wasting their time on this.

  Death, is death our only destiny?

  soon after we arrive on this earth, we become aware of the most fundamental fact of our existence, that we won't be here very long.

  an average life span lasts less than 30,000 days.

  we sleep a third of that time, so the days we experience number less than 20,000. we may try, but we can't ever completely deny our mortality.

  Our whole lives we seek to be comforted. From birth to teenage years, our comfort is in the form of our parents. From young adulthood to old age we seek a spouse to be our source of comfort. And then in old age, prior to death, we seek comfort that somehow our existense is taken care of in the spirit world.

  I always like to think there are possibilities.
