Watchtower hysteria

i have been away from the organization for about 3yrs now.. what did it for me was that verse in psalms/proverbs, where it says: do not put your trust in nobles or the son of earthling man.. the watchtower officials are like nobles.

they expect trust from you, with their multitude of rules for christian living.

something they say is down to your conscience; yet punish you for exercising your conscience.they infact want you to exercise their conscience.. yes, i have doubts about these people!.

It is okay to use some tact. On bible verse I do hold on to says to season your words with salt. Perhaps if you came in here not attacking people, you would not feel alone in here when posting. Of course their are clicks here. That is human nature. There will always be some personalities that I like, and some I don't. (most I do like) Still the secret to happiness is tact and respect for your fellow man.

Family member coming around

i went out to eat last night with my neice.

we had a few drinks and started talking.

before i knew it the conversation turned to the subject of doubts about the organization and if i recall correctly (hard when you've had a couple) she is the one that brought the conversation up.

Two Elders Came To My Door

well i guess wt is getting tired of waiting me out.

two elders showed up at my door on halloween.

they were not trick or treating, at least i think they were notat least they did not have candy bags.

I know Bill is a smart guy, so I am sure he already knew how a restraining order works. His rule about subjecting to a background check should be just fine. But logic would dictate if I can't approach you within 90 feet, neither should you approach me within 90 feet. Doing so would break the contract. Thus making it void.

Just a question for all those who say a restraining order is the way to go on this one. The no trespassing rule could apply both ways can't it? I am not certain on this one, but it is something to think about.

Matthew's Potter's Field Story Is a Fake

according to matthew, jesus says that jeremiah spoke of events which would foreshadow the priests' purchase of the potter's field with the thirty pieces of silver judas obtained for his betrayal of jesus: .

"then judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders... and they... bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

then was fulfilled that which was spoken by jeremy the prophet, saying, and they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of israel did value; and gave them for the potter's field" (matthew 27:3-10) .

I feel it is very possable to believe the gospels could be fabricated. I think somebody (Matthew) could have tried to spice up his rendering of the Judas account. After all, the early christians were trying to get a following started. I just thought I would try to give you a good imitation of Larsguy. All JW explanations jump all over the bible to make their case. I don't know if Larsguy is a JW, but he sure explains the bible like one.

BTW, JWs would have you believe Matthew's story is simply biblical coincidence.

To all atheist

i would just like to know how you were able to arrive at your belief system.

if i am not mistaken, an atheist is a person who absolutely does not believe in the existence of a god.

while i can definitely understand why someone would be averse to believing in conventional theism (inconsistenies, errors in writing), i cannot understand how one can be 100% certain that a god does not exist.

I don't consider myself atheist. I am however agnostic, and I don't believe we know the true nature of god. (If he exists) How else can you explain so many different religions. If god really cared what we believed, don't you think he would make sure we got it right?
