Social anxiety VS. Jw influence

my question for tonight is this : after leaving the witnesses do you still feel disjointed from society in general ( and i mean the human race not the wt) ?

im realizing that i still have quite a hard time in social situations where there are more than say 4-5 people .....i tend to get into a dreamy feeling state , and just basically out of it feeling .

i tend to blame it on being raised a dub .

How long have you been out? I find the longer I have been away, the less I feel like that. But there are many social situations I still feel unconfortable in. I don't have a real solution for it, but socialize, socialize, socialize.

Shock & Awe: At the Door at Work - No. 3

okay, this embarassing experience was at work, and not the door ... but the effect was the same.

i was working at the 300 area on the hanford reservation near richland, washington ... i was working on the fast flux test facility ... or as one news reporter accidently put it, the fast fux test facility ... anyway, one of the fun nuke projects there at hanford.. .

i had not gotten around to telling my co-workers that i was a jw.

Neat story. Been there, done that. At work we have monthly Birthday/Relax-and-get-better-aquainted parties. Thank God I don't have to try to avoid them like I once did.

Three years removed from JW-Dom.

i have not been to a meeting in three years 20-plus days.

i wonder if i missed any new light (tm).

certainly, i have had so much fun since leaving.

I know you don't have to be present to be Disfellowshipped. But at least by the rules three years ago, I thought they had to let you know your status. That is why I am curious about any changes in rules over the last three years.

I have not been to a meeting in three years 20-plus days. I wonder if I missed any new light (TM). Certainly, I have had so much fun since leaving. No more meetings, reading Watchtowers or JW books, no more service, and certainly no more fake friends. In the three years, only one JW person has ever called, and she was once my baby-sitter when I was just a boy.

I got to thinking about this last a week ago Saturday. My wife, Daughter and I went to the local Dairy Queen around 1000 hours to have a late breakfast/early lunch and sure enough, just like clock work here a car group came in. Two elderly Elders and one JW woman. The woman said hello to me, but did not say anything to my wife. The Elders said nothing to me. They both looked at me, but treated me like I was Disfellowshipped. To my knowledge I have not been Disfellowshipped, although I might as well be.

I have two questions.

Has anything changed in the last three years?

Can a person be Disfellowshipped with out being told?

Just curious.

I hate the idea of it cooling down in Jayhawk land, because the Trike rides will be coming to an end soon. However, with my new Trike project underway and Football on the television, I can't complain. Ozzie, enjoy your summer!
