hello all you scary apostates.

ill try to be brief, prob could do a whole topic on each point.. i was born a jw, one of 7 kids.

my mum ruled house with iron fist (whole story just there) we were the perfect jw family, never missed fs or meetings all baptised at magic age of 14, all pioneered.

My mother sent me this crap. I wrote a reply back about how manipulitive it was. I don't have a copy of my reply but this was her response. I told her she should call the information desk to find out if it was real, though I don't expect her to.

You are right about the e-mail, it did sound like a scare tactic. I got counseled from several people on the proof of that e-mail. This was more of the sisters feelings on the talk, and not the talk itself. I apologize for sending it out, please forgive me.

I figure if I can get her to apologize for sending me something that was intended to be "upbuilding" then maybe I have made some progress with her.

PS: Right before he ended the final of the three demos he quickly mentions that three months later they found another job.

the RV just became a DNC!!!!

some of you may remember me posting a few days ago that my shop had become some jw's magazine route.

well today the staff who was supposed to man the shop has called in sick, which meant that i had to go in and open up.

who should i find waiting for me on the door step with a big beaming self righteous grin on his face but a jw!

This is the arguement I used with my wife a while back. We are not allowed to belive anything, it really is just memorization of what ever they want to call facts this week.

paragraph 7: "the members of the bride class--the spirit-anointed christians--are the first to extend the invitation to come.

well, the bride is not saying "come!

Oddly enough the timeline on the side of the page says for 1932 the invitation was extended beyond the anointed, and in 1935 the great crowd was identified.

So to ask your question again who was this invitation to between 1918 and 1935?

If they thought that everyone was anointed then, were thousands of people suddenly declared to no longer have a heavenly hope?

Who made that decision for them?

I guess we can give them a pass since there really was such a talk as "may never die", but it is very underhanded that they chose this since there were only a handful of these before it was changed to "WILL" and got published in many advertisements and literature. Very few people even know that there was ever a talk by this title.

I think it is very interesting that the picture right next to the the paragraph that quotes the public talk "millions now living MAY nerver die", has the advertisment (photograph) for the convention talk that "Millions now living WILL never die".

If theres no God why the earth, the brain the universe? (Atheist and Agnostics)

(this question is directed to all the atheist and agnostics in the forum only).

i like most of the people here believed in a god who created us and the earth.

it was easy to explain the reason on many things like the degrees of inclination of the earth, the existance of water in our planet, the existance of an atmosphere, they joy in all the senses, the clear superiority of the human beens versus all other animals, the posesion of a brain who attempts to explain itself.

For me, design or purpose is a figment of man's imagination.

This is the same imagination that allows us to see faces is clouds and paintings and toast.

We are all going to ge suprised when the aliens that seeded us here return to harvest us.

Just saying, there are many more than two possabilites.
