1st assembly at Sherbrooke : 3500
2nd assembly at Sherbrooke : 3000
Total of 13500.
However, the JW's told the medias that they are more or less 23000 in Quebec! There is a difference of 9500 members!!!! Maybe they're including the inactive ones, which they are not supposed to do.......hypocrites!!! Sources : (french)

Ray Franz has had a stroke

there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.

Jevovah's Witnesses and mental health
by bubba flavel indoes anyone know if the society has specific policies on the handling of members with mental health problems?.
my grandfather, a brother in good standing since moses developed paranoid schizophrenia in his later years.
he got to the stage where he would knock people over in the street, place his hand on thier head and cast out evil spirits in the name of jehovah.. he was disfellowshiped and not long after he passed away.. this was related to me by a friend years later as i was unaware due to the shunning, i didn't even know he died.

In fact, the watchtower is hypocrite about mental health issues. In some articles it will say that the psychologists and psychiatrists opinions are no good, and in other articles it will recognize mental illness and the need to seek help with a psychiatrist. But very often, witnesses who are mentally ill will be disfellowshipped because they don't follow the watchtower principles. However this is not the way the "outside world" treat mentally ill people. The "world" helps them instead of rejecting them. Moreover, even if a seriously mentally ill person (like one having schizophrenia) commits a crime according to the world(which is serious), he/she will considered not criminally responsible and will get psychiatric help and financial help instead of going to jail. The watchtower doesn't help the mentally ill people in any way, it just get rid of them.

Hi everyone, I would like just to warn you all that there might be cult apologists at that conference. I went to a conference in Montreal last April, and there was one cult apologist that gave some speeches and he was working for the Scientology and Jehovah's Witnesses lobby. His name was Régis Dericquebourg. He was a French man, a sociologist from a certain university in France. He got verbally aggressive toward me when I mentionned all the work France and it's Miviludes did to fight cults. So, I hope it there won't be any cult apologists at the N.Y. conference. Otherwise, you will be very disappointed.
