"No organisation for me!" A question for ex JW Christians
by Chalam inobviously the wt is a best a man made organisation and publishing company.
at worst it is far darker.. anyhow, i understand why an exjw would be cautious to join another organisation.. however, god does have one and it is called the church.. .
matthew 16:18 (new international version)18and i tell you that you are peter, and on this rock i will build my church, and the gates of hades will not overcome it.. it is not a denomination or even a religion, it is just the collective of all born again believers who have come to jesus and are build on his foundation.. 1 peter 2:4-5 (new international version) 4as you come to him, the living stonerejected by men but chosen by god and precious to him 5you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to god through jesus christ.. ephesians 2:19-22 (new international version) .

The 'other sheep' - Isn't it so obvious that Jesus is talking about gentiles?
by jambon1 inam i being silly or do some other religions have a different understanding of who the 'other sheep' are?.
when i was a jw, i could see so clearly that this group is the gentiles.
that is, of course, reading the text 'in context', rather than simply placing it in a flakey jw leaflet.. why can jehovahs witnesses not see that they are so wrong on this point?.

Predestination and the 144K
by cameo-d inromans 8:29. for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.. .
so according to this, only certain people are chosen for a predestination.. how are their images conformed?
have they been genetically manipulated?

Australian Senator Slams Scientology in Parliment - Could JWs Be Next?
by Hopscotch inaustralian senator xenophon slammed scientology in a speech in parliment.
it was covered last night on national tv here by a current affairs program today tonight.
by sheer chance (as i usually do not watch tv) it was starting when i went into my mil's room (she is a jw who lives with us) so i stayed and watched the program.. the senator stated at the end of his speech, "scientology is not a religious organisation, it is a criminal organisation that hides behind its so-called religious beliefs.".

The land of Judah still had people on it during the Babylonian Exile
by Doug Mason inthe wts commences the seventy years of the babylonian exile when people from the city of mizpah left for egypt, following the murder of governor gedaliah.
the wts claims that the seventy years could not commence until judah was without a living soul or domestic animal, and that this departure for egypt marked that moment.
their position, however, is not supported by scripture or archaeology.. .

My understanding of the "70 Years" and the "Babylonian Exile" (without chronology)
by Doug Mason inin my view, there needs to be a very clear decoupling of the destruction wrought on jerusalem/judah from the 70 years of servitude/babylonian domination.. .
the destruction was the outcome of the people failing over many centuries to obey god, and it was a conditional prophecy, the outcome of which depended on the people's response.. .
however, the servitude to babylon, experienced by several countries, was an unconditional prophecy.
