The farther along my fade is the less I want to study for the meetings. This last Sunday watchtower study was talking about loving Jesus and Jehovah by being submissive to the GB and the elders. There is so much of this lately,I'm wondering if they are getting ready for another big change.....Yes it is painful because this was the "truth" and my life....

Does anyone find it too painful to read the WTS publications?
by dissed inbeen out 13 years and even for research purposes, i find it way too painful to read this wt stuff.. and why?.
all the painful memories it brings back.
don't misread me, it has nothing to do with a guilty conscience.. it has to do with the real pain, the anger of being ripped off and lied too by the wts, the anger of seing how they have protected child molesters, sacrificed its followers by refusing blood transfusions, the treacherous way we and others were treated by the 'unloving brothers'.

Since Leaving The "Truth" Is Your Life Better?
by minimus inyou are told that if you "go back to the vomit" of the world, you will be miserable.. is your life better or worse since you've removed yourself from the organization's hold?.

I just feel like crying... I'm so fed up of the hypocrisy!
by cattails ini was very disgusted with the wt study for today.. towards the end of the article it refers to matthew 15 (see quoted scripture below).
this is a beautiful passage where jesus says his followers need to be hospitable, care for sick, hungry and imprisoned brothers.. they turn it around and say that for jw's this means they need to support the "faithful and discreet slave" by going in door-to-door witnessing, making monetary contributions to support the worldwide witnessing work, and following the directions and counsel of congregation elders.. and the worst part of it all is that there were several commenters giving almost word for word answers to that effect, they didn't even seem to listen to previous comments, they just repeated mindlessly what the paragraph said... i was ready to burst.
mom knew i was about to have a fit right there and then.

Did You Ever Wonder Why One Should Pray To God When God's Record Is Pretty Dismal?
by minimus ini never understood why jws were told to pray to jehovah in order to have someone change their course, open their heart, make the way---when in reality it is like asking for a miracle to happen.
witnesses say miracles have been done away with and god doesn't work this way any longer.. if you're going through a bad time, pray to god and he will help you if you have faith.
he'll "bless" you!

It has always been a little confusing, praying. If you have serious problems, just say your prayers. They won't be answered, but he will give you strength to go though them. Some are blessed, some are not.

The book,In Search of Christian Freedom
by pat1060 ini have been reading the book in search of christian freedom by r franz.i just finished the chapter on the house to house ministry....unbelieveble.
he shows a totally different way of explaining the scriptures.i never realized how much the gb slants every thing to it's teachings.they need the nwt to do this.if you haven't read this book, you really should.what i'm wondering if you have read it,what stands out for you.....
