It's 2010 - 96 Years since 1914 - Once Again WT Society's Failed Predictions
by flipper inray franz saw it.
but the normal rank and file jehovah's witness doesn't have a clue as to how many times the predictions of dates allegedly marking the " end of the world " have come and gone without realization or fulfillment.
here is a short summation from ray franz's book " crisis of conscience " for those who were not aware.. on pg.

" Millions Now Living Will Never Die" Ray Franz Thoughts from " Crisis of C "
by flipper inof course this has been hashed and re-hashed as all of you know the feb. 15th wt is re-directing jw's to read the title of rutherford's talk as " millions now living may never die.
" however in reading crisis of conscience a second time - i found it interesting to see what ray franz said about this quote.. remember he wrote this book in 1983 , so keep it in mind when reading his quotes about this " millions " quote.

I haven't seen the WT with the millions quote in it.But I went back and read the history.I doubt if any one know the jws thought the resurrection was going to happen by 1925 with all the faithful men of old that are mentioned in Hebrews. What is so amazing is that they tied in Bible prophesy and the seventy jubilees of 50 years each to reach 1925.This was more exciting then 1975.It was for sure, not just a "how fitting."But in the history books it is hardly mentioned. What could they possibly have to say now.....they cover up so much. The RF don't even know how they are being lied to.....My sister gets all excited when ever there is a talk the makes it sound like A is right now...I can't wait to tell her a few things....She doesn't even know any of this....I read COC about 13 years ago,but I didn't really get into it much, because it was a tool of the devil. But now the second time I'm getting so more out of it...Thanks Mr. Flipper for an interesting post...

Have some went back & those who do, what's it like??
by DubR ini hope everyone had a great time with their loved ones last week!
i wanted to know have any on this forum went back to being a jehovah's witness who were previously disfellowshipped, disassociated, agnostic, atheist; or just faded away?
would any of you eventually go back for family and friends?

I did fade away for about 12 years and about 2 years ago I went back.Because I had been out so long I had to be studied with and taken out in service all over again.I really hated it.I knew more then the sisters that would study with me.Now I'm sorry and my eyes are open and I'm fading again. This time I have learned many things and continue to learn. But like you I have family in and I don't want to hurt them,so I'm being very careful.I just turn in token time and miss allot of meetings.I don't blame you for what you are wanting to do because of your mom.It can be done.Good luck to you....

tjlibre, thanks for this information on Mex.I didn't really have a good understanding on why they couldn't sing or use there bibles or pray.I lived there with my husband for 2 years back in the 80s.It is still a little confusing, but I will look it up.I always thought the JWs had to register as an education so couldn't function as a religion.Any way it sounds like you are doing a good job.She will realize she can't trust an org that is lying good luck...

Changing WT wording
by KingAgag inin the recent thread about 'millions now living may/will never die', purplesofa said that the wts changed wording on watchtowers between magazine and bound volume.
i'd be interested to see some examples please!
this could be very useful to help someone i know see they are fallible.

Any one coming into the org now is told not to read any older books, but just to go forward. When I studied with a neighbor lady a while back she wanted to get some older books just to read a little, but she was told by the elder not to......there own reading material is there worst enemy.
