for years, modern civilization has used the commercially available product known as toilet paper to cleanse one's rear posterior.
it is a common practice that has permeated almost all** of the inhabited earth.
I know that's not a 'Watchtower original'
Know why?
You wrote "so as not to stumble a brother or sister"š
PS I was told hygiene was the reason the ancients and Easterners never shake hands with the left hand, a pre-toilet paper tradition. Is this correct?
one of my tennis friends who happens also to be a nurse, told me today that he is concerned about my mental health because i support donald trump.
i believe he got shafted but i also recognize that very little will probably change regarding his being re-elected.
this man voted for the āgreenā candidate and said he personally agrees with most of trumpās views but he thinks heās morally corrupt.
šš¤£š¤£š¤£Oh Min....Classic thread!!!
if Iām honest, I do think youāre a little eccentric. But I wouldnāt have you any other way!!!
i was reading in the shepherding book that elders should ā culĀtivate and maintain friendships with one another.ā, and thought to myself ābulls$it!ā i remember that most of the elders in my old congregation were nothing but nasty asses.
i know it may vary from congregation to congregation, but do elders generally get along with each other behind closed doors in elders meetings?
or, are they often in conflict with each other?
Elder dramas....oh boy. We had two elders who had been so for many years. They were both decent chaps in their way but oh brother! The squabbles they had with each other! they were like two old dears arguing over the garden fence. Looking back itās all pretty funny, but at the time it could be quite exhausting trying to smooth things over!!!
(my grandad worked with one, we called Wilson, my grandad didnāt really get on with him because my grandad was an old soldier and disapproved of Witness men of his generation being from WW2)

hello all interested persons,.
whilst driving to work this morning listening to the radio, my ears pricked when the presenter began talking about jws.
it was on a programme which airs between 8.00 and 8.30 entitled am, and broadcast on the abc national radio.
As to the Watchtower coughing up $$$ through asset sale it cant happen. The Watchtower society in Australia has minimal assets of printing equipment and office equipment. Everything else is owned by separate(legally separate) entities that cant be drawn into the compensation.Every congregation is a poor charity with less than $5k in the bank and their hall is owned by a Private Non-charity company run by the WTS. Their whole restructure from the early 200's has been geared to avoid financial responsibility for their actions.
This is all true. But I donāt think their āshell gameā will necessarily work. There is a court case In New York where CCJW inc. attempted to claim they were not Watchtower and therefore cannot be responsible for abuse perpetrated before they came into being (as you say early 2000ās). They claim CCJW doesnāt commingle itās funds with any other organization and has its own board of directors.
Fortunately Zalkin law firm put that BS to bed once and for all. The service dept remains responsible for child abuse cases whether itās called Watchtower inc. or CCJW inc. and they are fully aware that watchtower owns all the property. The law wonāt be fooled.
i do agree they will do anything to escape liability, including folding the Australian branch and leaving each congregation to fend for itself and ensuring all donations go directly to Headquarters.
australian senator anna rushton has said that all orgs who "don't take reasonable steps to join the redress scheme" will be stripped of their charitable status come feburary 2021.. https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/k1pur7/the_jehovahs_witnesses_will_be_stripped_of_their/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share.
Lest we forget, said problem has arguably become so long-standing, endemic, and institutionalized directly because of said claim.
They simply would not consider that their vaunted "Biblical" standards and policies - so superior and effective than anything "Satan's World" could come up with - would not only fail to solve the problem, but actually make it worse.
Yup. And joining the redress puts you on the list just like everybody else. With the terrifying realisation you are no different to any other religion, the whole pack of cards comes tumbling down.
how many of you enjoy car projects?
we do one for the parade most every year.
this year was a bust but the project is done and ready for next july.
Is it a fiat of some kind, Pete? Looks Italian, anyways!
Have you seen these guys?ExJW car fanatics who take part in fares and parades. I think they're pro mechanics too.

nearly two weeks ago, sir james munby, a privy council member, formerly a law commission chairman, high court's family division president, and a lord justice of appeal, issued a short emergency order in a blood transfusion case closely resembling mcewan's the children act.. here are some excerpts:.
2. the case involves the deeply troubling question of whether a blood transfusion should be administered to a young woman who is almost, not quite, 16, against her profound religious beliefs.
Thank you for posting.
Thank goodness the judge seems to be saying we need to ensure this doesn't keep coming back to court every time she needs a transfusion because, despite her heartfelt wishes and "Gillick competency' he thinks risk to her life too severe (funny how every JW kid is deemed bright and articulate in these cases, because they've been fully primed!!) It seems the darn parents put her through a court case every time she needs blood (she's almost certainly got leukemia)
God I feel so passionate about these cases I want to scream. I get so upset.
russia's reason for banning jehovah's witnesses is said to be due to extremism.
but what exactly does that mean, or refer to?
specifically, what practice (or practices) of jehovah's witnesses does russia consider to be extreme?
According to some statements by the Russian authorities, it appears to be
A. The destruction of Famillies due to the cruel shunning policy
B. What we would term 'hate speach' toward the state and other religions
C. The blood ban putting Russian lives at risk
Of course, there are further reasons they don't talk about publicly.
Such as the fact they are a specifically American cult (like Scientology & Mormonism, also banned) which fleeces Russian citizens of their hard earned cash and sends it back to a(rich) American cult.
