I think the problem is twofold.

Misinformation on social media...anti vax, conspiracy theories and the religious extremists who claim (lied)God told them Trump will win.😒

AND a press that compounds all this with a blatant left wing bias.(I'm left wing by the way and it even annoys ME as Ive always had a strong sense of fair play ) So some supporters see him as a victim of some nefarious globalist deep something or other who knows rather than what's really happening also. A combination of a huge swathe of American youngsters attending university and so more educated folks than ever before (whether you find what they learn Marxist or not) and certain underprivileged groups finding their voice. And then add a pandemic😒

And of course all this list plays out on so many platforms which exacerbates it all in our minds.

Not to mention short bursts of social media “product”is addictive in and of itself and slowly destroys ones ability to concentrate on weightier written pieces. pieces more likely to, at the very least, get a witness using their critical thinking ability, even if this is in another field.

I don’t know if you’re aware, Simon, but the U.K. government have just said that we’re going to be having a yearly vaccine program and probably winter “lock downs” for the foreseeable future.

This means the door to door work, imho, is effectively finished in the U.K. After all who wants strangers bringing goodness knows what germs to your door uninvited??? It certainly rules out the preaching work for the over 60s, the backbone of the congregation, too. Plus of course there’s the further complication of data protection rules for the org.

Online meetings really may be the only viable way of maintaining safety for the Governing Body’s “piggy bank” ..... the older members of the Org.

Terrifying a little boy into believing that God might desert him, reject him and punish him for eating a piece of cake so as not to upset a friend.

And they wonder why some nations regard them as extremist cults???

I agree Smiddy, unless you want to show that slavery is evil, then strangely the Bible is silent on NOT owning another human....it only supports slavery and guilts or threatens slaves to remain with their masters.

New JW study book / method announced on JW Broadcast

so did anyone catch the january jw broadcast?.

it's the "spiritual content" of what would have been introduced in the october annual meeting, had the october annual meeting taken place.. morris, splane, and jackson introduce a new jw study publication: "live forever eternally - an interactive guide".. details were sparse, but apparently it is a 256 page book (when in actual printed form), primarily designed to be used in its electronic form, stuffed with links to videos.. it is designed to be "just one book" to be studied prior to baptism, where "all 60 questions that baptism candidates have to know" are found in just one place.. the purported reason is to make jw "bible" studies more "productive", i.e., lead to more baptisms.. splane brought out the governing body's "great concern" that 10 million+ "bible" studies are conducted by jws every year, but the number of baptisms has been stuck at 200,000 - 300,000 per year for decades.

so the thinking is, this new book + a "new method of conducting studies" (again, no real detail, but apparently it involves more "discussion" and less "question and answer").. want to know my thoughts?

Oppostate i agree. I think a lot of Pimos if they are Christian, don’t believe in the two tier system and partake....good for them!

i can’t remember the last time i stayed in on new year’s eve.

every year we went out and made this date a real party.

it was a celebration that included a night out, a stay in a hotel , eating, drinking and dancing to live music!.

The British government has ordered 100 million doses of the Oxford vaccine, enough to vaccinate 50 million people. Other countries will be watching closely: Australia has ordered over 50 million doses, Canada 20 million, and worldwide over 2.5 billion doses have been preordered. AstraZeneca expects to be able to supply large numbers of doses within the first quarter of 2021.

In with my kids. This was the worst year of my life. I lost my brother.

My upstairs neighbors lost their dad/husband in a bike accident last month.

Bloody awful year.

More school age children die of the common flu every year than will die of Covid-19. Do we shut down schools every winter and lockdown businesses??

We're not closing schools to protect kids, they're fine, but to protect teachers, parents and the community.

This is NOT just another flu....currently of the cohort in the UK that caught Covid19 at the same time as me 10% HAVE BEEN ADMITED TO HOPSPITAL and the NHS is almost at breaking point.
