JWs are bigger and more successful than the Mormon church
by joe134cd injust saw the following you tube video.
it’s 3 hours long, but thoroughly interesting.
if you want to save yourself 3 hours, basically the active mormon church is about 3 million.

Even with that, JW Memorial attendance is similar to Adventist membership numbers at around the 20 million mark, which may be a fairer comparison than the stricter JW “publisher” count.
For once, Slim, I couldn't disagree more with you!
We know the kind of folks who get guilted into going to the memorial in order that their family doesn't completely shut them out. Or the polite neighbour who wants to keep an elderly friend happy.
Watchtower is probably having very similar issues to the Mormons at present. I would say the current figure Watchtower claims , which has remained at 8 million for I don't know how long, is wildly optimistic.
5 million fully invested members would be a more sensible figure.
JustAGuY If everywhere were Scotland we would all have cool accents, kilts and failed livers

Have JEHOVAH ever supported WARS between his WORSHIPPERS?
by Longlivetherenegades injehovah's witnesses used to state other christian denominations go to war and in fact that their religious leaders bless such wars.
they see this as one reason why all other christian denominations are not true christians since they kill one another at war and therefore they don't love one another as stated by jesus in john 13: 34,35.. for example when a roman catholic go to war, he/she is bound to kill a fellow roman catholic in the cause of the war.
therefore roman catholic can't be true christians since its member don't love one another and kill one another at war and as such god cannot be in support of such wars where his worshippers kill one another.. the question that comes for consideration is, has jehovah ever supported wars between his own worshippers?.

DJ, for all practical purposes, JC was the Faithful and Discreet Slave during the 3 1/2 years of his ministry. but only one of many competing teachers.
The wt leadership claims that same role. Their "enthroned king of 1914", has done nothing but rule through them.
That's what I always thought Waton, that Jesus was the faithful slave.
Then MRS MARIA RUSSELL claimed that title for her husband. Shortly after his death this was played down (I may be wrong here). Nowadays, of course, the 8 GB members claim this title for themselves - therefore placing themselves in the role of Jesus for the majority of witnesses, though many aren't aware the GB are effectively their "mediator" - I'd be interested to know the dates the "slave" switched from Russell to the anointed, then from the anointed to solely the GB??

(This is my ignorance showing here, so bear with me)....But didn't this elder have a right to be in possession of the documents in the first place? If he then felt they were important evidence to the commission of a crime, and he then handed them over to the authorities (via Mark), I can't see what the issue is?
Am I missing something here?

Easy - Galatians 1: 8-9
I agree Sea Breeze that there are probably many scriptures one can use to demonstrate Watchtower doesn't have the truth as taught in the Bible. A good one is reference Galatians to demonstrate they do not teach what the apostles taught, as you say.
But I think there's an even simpler way.The Jews proved their faith by abiding by the law. But we were always taught a Christian now has their conscience to use instead (combined with the Holy Spirit).
Yet over and over exJWs will say they felt there was something 'not quite right' about the teachings and practices, behaviour and harsh treatments meted out by watchtower. That was our conscience reaching out to us .......but witnesses are forbidden to abide by their own consciences. That, to me, is what really marks out Watchtower as a cult

Watchtower we get to thinking that we know better than the organization, we should ask ourselves: "Where did we learn Bible truth in the first place? Would we know the way of the truth if it had not been for guidance from the organization? Really, can we get along without the direction of God’s organization?" No, we cannot!
Following that line of reasoning, Watchtower, where did you learn your doctrines from? The Bible Students was it? You prideful people! Go back to that organization, then!
Or for that matter where did you learn about Christianity? Catholicism? The Adventists? How prideful to think you know better! Go back to your mother organization !!!

Justaguy My point was the horror of dropping those bombs, not whether they were a technological marvel, and whether its something that it's appropriate to gloat over.
It wasn't just the flash that killed, burning flesh off of bones. Firestorms raged for hours afterwards, killing thousands trapped under the debris. Black rain fell with contaminated soot and dust on areas miles around. By 1946, the blast heat and radiation had killed around 74,000 in Nagasaki and 140,000 in Hiroshima. Of course years later many were still dying of radiation including my step father-in-law who was a prisoner of war and made to clear rubble after the attack. His first wife and, later on, two kids also died of cancer and I often wonder if the two things were connected.
I'm sure you know that at the time Russia had entered the war against Japanese who were now discussing surrender Many historians do not agree dropping the bombs were necessary to end the war. But apparently believing so is "reductionist"🙄
Oh, and as to Europeans all speaking German if not for the Americans during WW2(and whilst I'm deeply grateful for every American soldier who fought)....try telling that to the (at least) 11 million Russians🙄
When it comes to modern warfare, I think your'll find this generally applies:
Redvip You forgot a big important factor. A lot of armament was sold and used, pockets were lined and wallets got fat. The goal of the war was achieved.
