Yes, that was the current understanding back then in 1985, when they published the Creation book, for 10 more years. Even the latest reprints still have that piece of 'old light.' But Witnesses know that the information had been since updated three times (1995, 2008, 2010) and they no longer make a case out of it.

Nothing new in the fact that only indented paragraphs are to be counted. This means that if a page starts with a paragraph continuing from the previous page (phsyically the first paragraph on the page, but not indented), followed by a subheading (phsyically the second paragraph, not indented) and the first body text paragraph under that subheading (physically the third paragraph, indented), then paragraph 1 on this page is this third paragraph. It's always been like this when giving publication references. In study publications paragraphs are numbered directly for easier reference and there too the subheadings are not numbered.

Tiny procedural change
by Caminante insince i have my own software to track pdf publication uploads and changes on jw.org and simplify publication downloads, i looked behind the reasons why certain publications had been updated this last month (first the know the truth tract in hungarian which i knew of it didn't have any recent textual revisions, and then bible teach book, which had suffered a further update the picture on page 3 was replaced).
i noticed one little procedural change, which 99 percent of the witnesses won't even notice, but the publications printed since the start of this service year no longer have "all rights reserved" on the publishers' page.
first i thought it was a mistake, but it's for real.

The crappy quality is because the PDFs uploaded to JW.org have all images reduced to 150 ppi. There are exceptions to that too. E.g. The tract Know the Truth in Shona (kt_CA.pdf) is 32 MB in size (while other language editions are 300-500 KB), because it has the images at 300 ppi (and compressed differently).

No, it's not scanned. The old version of MEPS Composition (pre-1997) generated text as a separate layer of black and white (1-bit) bitmap. Current reprints use the latest renditions on file. For example the Family Happiness book (printed in 1996) has the covers (designed after 2001) laid out using text as text, the pages with text as image except a page that was updated to reflect "volumes 1 and 2" of the Young People Ask books.

Since I have my own software to track PDF publication uploads and changes on JW.org and simplify publication downloads, I looked behind the reasons why certain publications had been updated this last month (first the Know the Truth tract in Hungarian — which I knew of it didn't have any recent textual revisions, and then Bible Teach book, which had suffered a further update — the picture on page 3 was replaced). I noticed one little procedural change, which 99 percent of the Witnesses won't even notice, but the publications printed since the start of this service year no longer have "All Rights Reserved" on the publishers' page. First I thought it was a mistake, but it's for real. Since all publications had it before, there must be some legal reason behind its removal. Are there some rights pertaining to the literature which Watch Tower are unable to reserve?

Why the need for a new font?
by Splash inso with everything else being dissected, i want to know why it's important to have a font that can be copyrighted?.
the font used is very similar to a number of others, like tahoma, ms sans serif, and arial etc, so what benefit is there to employing (in the loose sense of the word) a team in japan to create a brand new western set of glyphs?.
will this help with their prosecution of those who copy/paste nnwt verses?.

1) We aren't talking about 'Western' sets of glyphs, but Latin typefaces that include all the Latin characters, accents, ligatures for all languages that use Latin characters (including Vietnamese, Lahu, as well as Amerindian languages and African languages that use Latin script). The basic font files use one-byte encoding, MEPS has a Unicode conversion algorithm that translates Unicode/UTF-8 input (that might include precomposed accented characters) into the glyph sequence generated for PostScript output.
2) When talking about Latin fonts, MEPS used two different sets of fonts. The newer ones (those used mostly today) were purchased from URW (apparently the full URW TypeWorks collection released in 1994), and those have names starting with WtU followed by the font name (WtUStoneSerItcTMed) and started to be used in 1996. The older ones are the result of Watchtower's own digitization process in the early days of MEPS. Most of them have commercial counterparts, but some glyphs are pretty much different and the type production departament of the Watchtower has done a pretty neat job.
3) The fonts used for the Bible are not the same in every language. English uses WtHelvetica for sans-serif type and WtIon (a slightly lighter version of WtIonic, the font used to compose the Daily Text booklet) for serif type, but most other languages have WtRegalII (the font used in forms and talk outlines), few exceptions use WtEgyptian (German, Greek, Portugese, Slovak), WtUBookmanItcTLig (Polish), WtCenturySchoolbook (Vietnamese), WtUStoneSerItcTMed (Turkish) and even spotted a WtGaramondNew in the Czech edition. Probably by having this new set of fonts they want to use a modern set of typefaces to further distinguish this new revision and use the same fonts in every language.

The list of all currently used publication mnemonics (that's the official designation for these codes) are found in the Watchtower Publications List (S-15). Atlantis posted the most recent, March 2013, version.
