Undercover--my company must use the same filter software. Most anything I click on comes up as porn. I just thought it was because our IT guy is an elder in my last cong. He's a porn FREAK. He'd ask everyone in every JC if porn was the reason that they started sinning. lol. So I think he's a little obsessed.

I agree with you wholeheartedly and personally never refer to myself that way and I continue to speak with any JWs I see out publicly. I am civil and polite with them as I would be with any other human. I applaud you for being able to come to this place and make plans to more forward with your life. I know it's hard and it will suck at times but I believe you will be a better man for it.

I hope you are able to find some peace with your wife. Whether you stay married or not, I hope that it is a decision you are content with.

i thought it ironic that jehovah would not want people to handle snakes to worship.

him because it might cause suffering, pain, and even death, but would want his followers to refuse blood that can cause the .

Maybe it's because some of the antidotes to snake bites have blood or blood products in them? We know the dubs can't accept those so the wonderful GB is just protecting the flock again. *snicker*

I would totally buy some snarky coffee mug or maybe even a t-shirt. I've had great experiences with cafepress also.

But I prefer more simple styles. What you have now is very busy and would take much explaining. Just my .02

I run the online bookstore out of my home for a non-profit organziation that promotes safe and healthy childbirth. I am also on the board of another organization that is just starting up and also promotes safe & healthy childbirth I also moderate 2 yahoogroups for them. I spend MANY hours a month as an unpaid volunteer in these efforts with these 2 organizations.

Please explain the point of being Good?

i never understood the point of being good and righteous if the only punishment for not doing so was "nothing" i would die and nothing would happen.

just nothing, no hell, no pain, no regret... just nothing.. on the other hand if i am good.... i have to deal with the jw's and their rules and boring meetings forever!!!

no worldly girls to sneak around with on saturday night.. no keg parties to sneak off too on friday?....

Brocephus I felt exactly the same way. When I was an active JW I even told my friends & family I'd rather live just this one life and actually enjoy it, then be miserable my whole life and possibly, maybe get a chance to live forever. Oddly I got the same looks. lol.

this is the awake that has the pictures of kids that died because they or their families refused blood.. my jw mom refuse to believe that the wt would put their faces on a magazine.. does anyone know where i can get a copy or download it?.

You can get the 1994 bound volumes on Ebay. I was just looking yesterday. They are listed for like $20 US. I can dig out the link if you want it.

we all chewed on this article pretty well when the news first came out about the " overlapping anointed " concept , however we discussed so much on just those 2 paragraphs dealing with the new " generation " theory - that almost the rest of the article was overlooked .

our lurking inactive jw friend on the board sent us a copy of the april 15th.

Every time I go back and read that article I'm shocked. It's glaringly obvious to most of us here and yet so frustrating that most of the active JWs won't notice or WORSE will be invigorated by this "new light". Even the highlighted box "Are you keeping up with increased light?" angers me. It SHOULD point out the various doctrine changes and wake the rank & file up, however it will only serve as encouragement and PROOF that this is Jah's org. The various changes actually work in favor of the Governing Body and it make me nausous.

I'm so worried for my brother and my children (being brought to the meetings by my ex). I feel anxious and stressed about "saving" them yet hopeless about accomplishing it.
