Help with a question. Need W-4/1/2010

this question is in the now famous 4/15 watchtower in the do you rememebr section.. i want to know what the source article said, because i can hardly agree with this statement as written.

i am assuming this is in relation to the "translation" of the nwt, but it is misleading to the point of fiction.. can anyone look at the 4/1 watchtower and tell me what is says?.

Smurfs

i noted on another thread the mention of 'smurfs' and a certain jws dismissiveness of the matter.

which got me to thinking as tonights episode of southpark is about the student councel wanting to kill smurfs..... does anyone remember this one that did the rounds here in my part of oz:.

a child took a stuffed toy smurf to the meeting as a cuddle toy and partway through the meeting the smurf got down from the chair, declared it was tired of listening to this rubbish and walked out of the hall!.

Did they give the scientists a motive for "lying" to us? I don't any reason why they would LIE. What is there to gain?

they were always telling these aesop's fables as if they'd actually happened.. .

who hasn't heard the one about the person who didn't like the fact his kjv had "jehovah" in it, tore it out and said "..it's not there anymore" and the ever-clever jw says "it's there in three other places...." nanny nanny boo boo!!!.

If you felt/feel that you had/have good, close "friends" in the org, how did/does it feel to just give them up?

this is my biggest dilema.

although mentally i really feel i could walk away from the org right now, i still have genuine love for the people i have come to know over the years.

i love people!.

It's hard, hard hard. Once you get used to not seeing them often, the worse part for me was the realization that our friendship hadn't meant to them what it meant to me.

These are people that I would have done anything for. We've been in each weddings, supported them through pregnancy/labor/childbirth, losing family members, etc. We were closely bonded. And now? It's like they never even knew me. No, hey how are you? How are the kids? I miss you, let's do lunch. NOTHING.

It still hurts to realize that what we had meant nothing to them, but as the others have stated when you do move on and form other friendships, you start to appreciate what true friendship is. It's awesome to have someone love you and support you even IF you have differing religious/spiritual beliefs.

I had to hurt my kids this weekend... it sucks

i have been in a world of pain this weekend.. some of you know the ongoing battle i have had with my ex wife, an uber dub hypocrite, over seeing my kids more.

3 weeks ago i managed to secure an agreement from her that provided my 13 yr old daughter friday night to sunday afternoons and for my 16 yr old son to have friday night to sat afternoon with the option to extend it to sunday if he so desires.

this is each second weekend.. first due weekend visit she rearranged the days so that she was technically pre agreement start date.

Oz, FWIW, I think you did the right thing as well. It's hard, believe me I know. I'm going through a lot of the same as you know. Have you read Divorce Poison? It was reccomended to me and I've found it to be very helpful and I've only just started reading it. I know we've been taught to never say anything bad about the other parent and always take the high road and such. But this book explains that there are times when we need to put our foot down and ways to do it without bringing the kids in the middle.

How I obtained my personal files from Bethel

it has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.

in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

Michelle365 - From what I heard through the grape vine I had apparently disassociated myself by my actions

This is a very unfair aspect of the whole process that being used more these days. Disassociation does not give you the opportunity to appeal and so can be even more unjust than d/f. When the WTS had issues with the Bulgarian government in order to obtain legal recognition they had to say having a blood transfusion is not a disfellowshipping offence. What they then did is made it a disassociating offence. That way the Bulgarian government thought they had done Witnesses a favour when in fact the situation became worse. It appears elders are using the same principle for apostates as well at times.
