My First Birthday!!!!!
by Gojira_101 inmy birthday isn't until the end of july but yesterday i got my first birthday gift in the mail.
my best friend (stubborn disbeliever) sent me my gift early.
i know what it is, but seeing it all wrapped up and knowing on my birthday i can open it...it really struck a cord with me.

Unnecessary bad language
by Simon ini've noticed a few posts where bad language is used when it is completely unecessary and detracts from the message.. please consider what your choice of words will have on other people who read the forum before you post them, especially for regular posts that are not in the adult section.. there is a time and place for anger and expletives but most regular topics are 'not it'..

Wizard, I really wish we had a like button!
Lurkers are less likely to be scared away they are already nervous about being on the evil internet.

Like all the posters above said, remember that Armagedon is not coming soon! Read and study whatever makes you scratch your head. Take your time! You have all the time in the world.
Welcome to the rest of your life!

Many community colleges have culinary arts classes... meant to educate cooks and restaurant staff for the local eaterys. In my town there is a small sit down restaurant in the college. They serve about 10 tables (white tablecloth and flowers). Love the meals, but it can be a long wait, everything has to pass inspection by the chef and it is delish.
Last week they had surf & turf. It was finals for the students. The students learn a lot. Our complete meal for two was under $22.00.

JW ex-boss is such a horrid man!
by Julia Orwell inok, so my husband worked for this slave driver jw boss in a factory, and injured his back on the job.
so my husband has launched a compensation claim against the jw boss's worker insurance for unsafe work practices.
so the jw ex boss has responded to the claim with this mega statement affidavit thing.

Do give groups a chance, if you have an interest that you are interested in! You will get involved with people who also have that interest and if you find that a gal also is in the group, all the better. Social interaction helps you grow. Chess, recycling, politics; any hobby or even another class.
We were told to avoid all those things of the "world" Expsure to that world will give us an idea of what we really like and what what others can contribute to our lives.
Your thread title shows you aren't ready... it will come. When you are comfortable, you will be ready.

Something hit me about the text message, graduation will not be attended by other JWs and anniversary party likely to be attended by many JWs (being that is about the only thing they can celebrate.... Probably she figures that no witness at the graduation to gossip about it at the hall. Pretty likely the lady is also very conflicted- as mentioned previosly.

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.
