"Cemetery Witnessing" on Memorial Day
by Morbidzbaby ini've been wondering if this is just something that's done in my area, or if people do it all over.. every year on memorial day, a lot of people meet for fs and then when they break into groups, they all discuss which cemeteries they are going to "work".
every major cemetery in the city is divvied up.
the idea is, they take a stack of small tracts (usually the what hope for dead loved ones) and they basically park the car in the cemetery and walk around handing them out to the mourners.

My little sister is one of the ones who reads obituaries and then sends letters or emails to the grieving family along with literature. Disgusting and absolutely no sense of propriety or boundaries.

I have one. Just one, I like it and enjoy it, when I remember that it's there at all. It sort of felt like a rite of passage or a reclaiming of my body (since in the JWs I wasn't allowed to have one). If it makes you feel happy, I say go for it. People always ask "what about when you get old and if it gets stretched or wrinkly?" So what? Like I'm not going to have bigger things to worry about when I'm old.
I expected it to hurt a lot to get, but it didn't. No crying, it sort of felt like a buzzing or a light cat scratch. Once it was done, there was no residual pain or soreness. Make sure you go somewhere licensed and clean and sterile. Don't be afraid to visit many different tattoo artists, look at their portfolios, and ask questions about their practices (i.e., make sure that each needle comes out of a brand new packet and is disposed of afterwards, etc.)
It's a very personal thing, a tattoo. Think it over carefully, because it's permanent, but make the decision for yourself and not anybody else. If you get one, be prepared for people to occasionally say stupid/ignorant things or make comments that are none of their business. You learn to let it roll off your back. There's less of a stigma about it these days, but you still get those people who comment about "blemishing" the "temple" of your body. Fuck that. If you want it there, it's not a blemish.

At the end, they usually ask if YOU have any questions for THEM. Have some good ones prepared (and NOT about salary/benefits - that will usually get you disqualified. Your questions should link back to what you can offer them, or how you can best fit into their team...questions about the company culture and hierarchy are great).
One I ask that most people don't think about is "In what area do you think your current team/department could use a little polishing?" I asked that at the interview for my current job and it stopped both of the hiring managers dead for a few seconds and they were like, "wow, nobody's ever asked that before. That's actually a REALLY good question!" It shows them that you're interested in knowing where their weaknesses are so that you can help improve upon them. I'm pretty convinced that asking that question was a big reason I got hired.
