@sacolton. Yup. Though not as scary as Stephen King's "IT". I read that book when I was 10 and had nightmares for weeks.

I couldn't think of a name for my first car ('88 Jeep) but she definitely did have lots of personality.
My friends nicknamed my '94 Honda Magna 750 motorcycle "The Barbie Harley" since it was an iridescent pearly lavender purplish color with green flames.
Had a PT Cruiser for a while and it was a piece of crap, broke down all the time, and was devoid of personality, so I figured it didn't deserve a name.
And now my daily driver is a '68 VW Bug named Kermit, because he's green and white. He's my dream car. I want to keep him forever.

Did you ever feel let down by the Bethel tour?
by maninthemiddle inreading jeff's thread about dress made me think of my one and only trip to bethel.. i can't remember if i was babtised at the time, but i went with a bus load of jws.. like someone said in the last thread, printing presses and empty rooms.
i was very disapointed, however i don't think i had any pre-concieved notions of what it would be like.
what i was diapointed in was so much of the "tour" was walking hallways looking at exhibits behind glass.

YES. A few years back my family and I were in NY for a week, and half that week was spent seeing all of the Watchtower facilities - Brooklyn, Patterson, and Wallkill. I wanted to see the city and hit up some vintage shops, and instead I spent hours and hours on end being "encouraged" on the Bethel tours.
Plus, they wouldn't let me wear just jeans and sneakers, so my feet were killing me. My mom got angry at me and started screaming in the hotel room because, on the third day, my feet were so swollen that I just thought "fuck it", and wandered through Patterson in my stockinged feet, carrying my high heels.

What will happen if you are I.D'd ?
by wobble inmany on here are keen to hide their identity, me included, i don't want to be df'd and many of the views i express on here would be enough for most jc's to df me sine die.. anyone reading on here who knows me a little more than vaguely could work out who i am, my list of cars i have owned for example, on another thread.. but what could they do ?.
i know they could make a case, and then as happened to a young sister in a neighbouring congo.
say they would investigate why the bro.

I was a "fader" and, although my family wasn't speaking to me, I have never been disfellowshipped. When I began my blog just over a year ago, I remained anonymous, in the hope that family communications could perhaps be reopened in the future. When I was "outed" in the news, my family found out and, well, there went that hope (not that it was ever more than a slim chance to begin with).
Now, it's all very public knowledge how I feel about the JWs. Nobody seems to have tried to track me down to disfellowship me, since I have no real permanent address. But I've got a book coming out next year that's VERY candid about all of the JW shenanigans, and I imagine that once I manage to settle down, at some point they'll try to convene a judicial committee. But so what? They only have the power that I give them. My family were the only ones "in" that I cared about getting out, and I've come to terms that it'll probably never happen. I spent a long time worrying about being I.D.'d, and then when it finally happened, it was far less harrowing and damning than I'd imagined it would be.

My JW grandmother is around 400 lbs. When she's not at meetings, she sits at home in her rocking chair (even sleeps in it) with the TV on and hates everybody. She's outliving us all out of spite.
