Where did these numbers come from? This isn't an actual financial statement, its a spreadsheet. Without the notes its useless.

Enlightenment, Will It Be A Rather Common Experience In The Future?
by Brokeback Watchtower init has been said by some that an enlightened being came/happened once every 500 years, but now they seem to be popping up all over the place.. the buddha had to meditate like hell, he even starved himself to attain it.
monks spend many years doing some are successful some are not.. i think with science looking into these nirvana states of mind that they will figure out a way to end suffering for the human species which will usher in a whole different way of life with higher intelligence running things.
from my understanding of enlightenment it is a sort of rewiring of the brain where the signals go up pleasure side of the amygdala where as painful emotions and sensations go up the other side.

Be about it, not talk about it means, essentially, actions speak louder than words. This thread contains a total of 15 comments, 10 of which are yours. Five of those are basically (if not completely) videos.

I went to college in the sixties, when lots of people ran around talking about being enlightened. In the eighties I worked for a company that sent all of its employees to EST and its offshoots. A few years ago my wife taught in a school run by a religion that was all about mindfulness. Now people are talking about being "woke." It is my experience that all of the above groups contain some nice people, but all of them are remarkably self-absorbed and talk about their supposed (but not noticeable to an outside observer) intellectual and spiritual superiority.
In my opinion, you need to be about it, not talk about it.

May 1 2018 my Ayahuasca Experience
by new boy init has been over a year and a half since my last ceremony.
which was way to long.
my son came up from scottsdale for the ceremony.

I would like to say that Ayahuasca is drug as you say, but to many around the world who have tried it is a sacrament, and medicine.
That's what they said about LSD, peyote, and marijuana in the sixties. Later they said cocaine wasn't dangerous. I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict. I work in a 28 day rehab facility. I think you're doing drugs.

For those of you who do know: do teenage JW's hang out with each other? worldly kids? nobody? Lie to your parents/elders about it? I'm curious, this might be background material for the novel I'm working on.
Thanks in advance. Sometime in the next few days I'll put up a post about my latest adventures in writing.

Can a DF person testify at a judicial committee?
by JeffT inthis may be a plot point in a novel i'm working on.
will a judicial committee take testimony from a df'd or da person?
i could see them wanting to get dirt from any possible source, on the other hand i can picture somebody saying "he's df'd everything he says will be a lie.

Maybe there's official direction or do they leave it up to the elders involved? Just curious.

U.S. political turmoil ...
by mikeflood inthat russian thing, all those suits, the bitter political divide... it's getting out of control.
i think trump could resign and pardon all, he even could get ill because to much pressure (even for his lawyer), or he's gonna get so cornered that he could take very drastic decisions.
they should concentrate in govern the country instead, it's getting tiresome.

I mostly ignore the news these days, because its not news, its opinions and speculation. Fox News is the Republican party outlet, all others speak for the Democrats. Actual journalism doesn't exist anymore. The media is the biggest single problem in the country these days, because all they're doing is getting their base all worked up.

Proposed Georgia(USA) Assembly Hall Collected Funds, 3.5 Million Dollars, donated to the World Wide Work
by James Jack infrom 2012 thru 2016, congregations in georgia and alabama collected funds to build a new assembly hall in south atlanta.
to date, 3.5 million dollars was collected and 75 acres was purchased.
the branch decided that this assembly hall was not needed.

JeffT
I just took a look at Google Earth. The Puyallup Assembly sits on about 15 acres. I haven't been there in a long time, when I was going there I think it held 2500-3000 people.
A properly designed parking lot holds about 100 cars. A fifty acre parking lot would hold 5000 cars. That is a lot of people, easily 10,000. Are they holding conventions that large in these buildings?
