I just finished a 1/700 model of a Japanese battleship, I'm starting a 1/72 B-25 (the plane Doolittle bombed Tokyo with). I read "Midnight in Chernobyl"- I highly recoomend it. I'm now reading a novel about - of all things- an outbreak of plague.
I'm chewing through movies, mostly old classics, on "on Demand." I expect to hit Amazon for more books and models soon.
I hate yard work, but I've been trimming shrubs just to do something.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

Governor Inslee just extended the stay at home order in Washington State to May 4th.
The curve in Italy looks like its flatter only because its on a logarithmic scale. Take a look at the scale on the sides. I think we have a long way to go.

Coronavirus Positive

i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.
i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

Will Governor Cuomo be the Next President?
by RubaDub intrying to put politics aside (even though that won't really work), but ny governor andrew cuomo is blowing the other politicians out out the water (orange man [trump] and the lizard [biden]).. i don't know if cuomo has a usb port in the back of his head plugged into a hard drive but the guy speaks, analyzes and talks coherently.
the orange man always passes difficult questions to someone else.
the lizard can't comprehend what the question is but tries to answer something.. cuomo comes out with facts, analysis and direction on what needs to be done.

Last night my wife said they need to do the Democratic primaries over so they can nominate Cuomo. I think they should do it (Biden could tell his delegates to vote that way).

What SHOULD have woken you up ?
by Phizzy infor myself, there is an embarrassingly long list of things that really should really have woken me up, fully.
it was a long process for me, as a mind controlled born in, things i simply did not agree with, or knew were downright wrong, that built and built, and, eventually i woke up, after 58 bloody years in !.
but just mainly for fun, what should have woken you up ?.

It is not yet an official order to shelter in place, but we're getting close. The Governor is strongly encouraging it. My wife and I are both minimizing time out of the house (we did some yard work today and that's it). She's 68 and has an autoimmnue issue, I'll be 69 in two weeks so we're trying to take care. Fortunately my employer is being very supportive of staff that need to do this.
That said, I'm going to be batshit crazy if this goes on too long. I'm editing a novel in preparation for self-publication and binge watching old war movies and science fiction. It's going to get old fast.

They're setting up a two hundred bed field hospital a few miles from my house. I'm not big on conspiracy theories but this is making me wonder if somebody knows something they're not telling us.

The outbreak in Seattle did not start in the asian community. (I live in Woodinville, just northeast of Seattle). It took off in a nursing home and hospital, both only a long walk from my job. I don't know if they've identified the source, there could be a chinese connection, but I have not heard anything for sure.
