How can the mayor allow this to happen. Are the residents so liberal they don't care!
In a word, yes.
it's wrong that thing in seattle where protesters established an ' autonomous zone ' .
police shouldn't have police - free zones.. the left is taking some risks here....russian revolution implemented more than a hundred years ago the so called soviets or "councils of workmen's and soldier's deputies".
what are they gonna do when 'autonomous zones ' pop elsewhere?.

There was another shooting last night. This one was wounded, and they managed to get him out in a timely fashion. Mayor says she wants it cleared out, but has not given a time frame. She says she wants to allow protests during the day but a nighttime curfew. CHOP responded with call for her to resign and a statement that hey won't do anything she says.
This has the potential to really hurt the protestors as the rest of Seattle may wonder when the shit show is coming to their neighborhood.
i love rhythm and blues and soul music.
i love funk but i also enjoy music of the 60s and 70s.
just not really into classical or country western although some country is pretty good..
Classic Rock: The Doors, Cream, Greatful Dead, Led Zeppelin, The Who, CSN&Y, John Mayhall, It's a Beautiful Day, Crow (so far all groups I've seen live) Pink Floyd ( a band I really wanted to see), the Beatles, Rolling Stones. I grew up on this music (wasn't a JW at the time).
we have to get rid of these racist relics.
i propose that we destroy all these bottles of syrups and burn every pancake box !
we need to get rid of anything that reminds us of anything negative concerning slavery.. in boston they decapitated the head of christopher columbus and got rid of his statue.
Phoenixrising, I think a trip to your place would be better than some museums I've been to.
this video was somewhat revelatory to me.
i knew that fox was a coordinated news outlet but i had no idea it was so rigid.
that's the iron fist of the corporate agenda.
If you think that ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN aren't pushing an agenda I have a real estate deal for you.
after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.
you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.
would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?
Some of these people have no idea the meaning of the objects they're defaciing.
Among a few: Admiral Farragut ("damn the torpedoes") fought to abolish slavery. The 54th Massachusetts was an all-black unit (depicted in the movie "Glory"), several others have been vandalized. A memorial to three black men lynched, in Minnnesota without trial. The list goes on.
on simon's thread about what we've been doing while stuck at home i mentioned that an alternate history novel i wrote is now on amazon.
both kiindle and print versions are available.
he told me to post a link, see below.
On Simon's thread about what we've been doing while stuck at home I mentioned that an alternate history novel I wrote is now on Amazon. Both KIindle and Print versions are available. He told me to post a link, see below. The set up is the United States never bought Alaska and coming out of their war with Russia the Japanese did. Mayhen ensues.
I'm now editing the sequel, the draft of the third book in the trilogy is done. Book 2 should be up this summer, and the third in the fall. After that I have two novels based VERY loosely on my time with the JW's. They're the first things I wrote and need a lot of work. I hope to have the first one done sometime next spring. You'll hear more when I'm done.
Here's the link:
so we've all been locked down and there's only so much netflix / prime / disney / hbo you can watch and computer games you can play.
what has everyone been doing to pass the time?.
when you're completely stuck inside and working from home it can get a bit boring staring at the same walls all day and then in the evening as well.
Phoenixrising, that's also an impressive gun collection. What is the long gun on the rights side? My first guess is a Sharps Carbine.
Thanks Simon. Here are the links, if these work I'll start a thread.
This link will get you to both Kindle Ebook and print versions.

I published an alternate history novel (1910:War in the Pacific) on Amazon in April. . I'm currently doing edits on the sequel (1912: War for the White House). I hope to have that available sometime this summer. The draft manuscript for 1916: War for America is done, edits should be done by this fall. That will finish the trilogy, but I have ideas for two more after that.
I've been working on two novels based very loosely on my association with JW's. They were the first long fiction I wrote and need A LOT of work before they're ready for publication.
Bottom line: I'm happy as a pig is s*** sitting at home and writing away.
do you think it’s a good idea?.
Yesterday the city of Seattle's resident socialist council member (Kshama Sawant) demanded that the Mayor (Jenny Durkan) resign over police misconduct during the riots protests. She also wants the budget for the police department cut in half.
Tonight in a new confernce Durkan said she planned to make the budget cut next year, She did not address leaving office at all. Sawant now says she's going to start an impeachment process, possibly as soon as Monday morning.
For those not familiar with Seattle politics Durkan is a lesbian, and in any other city would be considered well to the left of "moderate." Apparently the local lefties have chose to treat her like Atila the Hun.
I need to check my popcorn supply.
