The U S is also generally follows English Common law, the exception is Louisiana, which follows French (Roman?) law.
The US does not have an extradition treaty Croatia.
Until you start getting letters from lawyers in your own country I wouldn't worry too much.
I still have questions about JLE's finances.

Wow.
Lloyd, as you were writing the message in Toblerone 5's post did you even think about the fact that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society probably has a better claim against you for doing to them all the things you claim to have been done to you? I can't in good conscience root for the WTBS, but damn it would be get the popcorn time to watch them pay off CSA lawsuits with your money.
It is a sad commentary on your life that you've brought some one like me (I've been out of the Watchtower since 1988 - I think that may be longer than you've been alive) to a point where I can say that.

Some days I worry about myself. It just occurred to me that the next time I get a call offering to extend the warranty on my car I could give them this attorney's bank account number. Or maybe its LE's. Either way it might prove a good lesson in not putting such information out in public.
Edited to add: of course I would never do such a thing, even to somebody that was stupid enough to release private information to an individual who has no obligation to keep it private.

I don't know anything about lawyers in Croatia. In the U S going to an attorney with a $3000 claim would get you laughed out of the office. They'd tell you to take it to small claims court.
Also (and I was told this some years ago by my own lawyer), if the lawyers think they have a criminal case they would pursue that FIRST. Then, when you have a guilty verdict, you go to civil court and use that as proof of responsibility and damages. It makes the civil trial a slam dunk.

Why do you call yourselves "apostates?"

well let me clarify the question.

i know you call yourselves apostates because the bible defines people who leave their previously held beliefs as apostates.

my question means, if the bible is not true (and i don't think it is) then there is no such thing as an apostate.i have never been a jw, only a bible student with them.

Similar to a black person referring to themself with the N***** word-- or a Mexican using "Wetback" or "Spic". They would never mean that is a "real" description of themself. Rather, it's using the pejorative term to make a point.
This. By calling myself an apostate I rob the word of its power.

OK, that's two questions, but they are closely tied together.

I agree with what Simon said. Here's a point to ponder.
After smuggling, bribery, blackmail, extortion, and God only knows how many murders, when the Feds finally nailed Al Capone they got him for (drum roll); Tax Evasion. Yes, Karma's a bitch. Just my two cents but I don't think LE is improving his karma.
This is just an opinion, but I was an accountant for twenty-six years. I think there are questions about LE's finances that deserve answers. Maybe there's nothing there, maybe its just poor financial management. When you solicit money from the public, you owe honesty, forthrightness and transparency to those supporting you.
Edited to add: I just did some research on US Tax law. I saw enough to be comfortable advising you to get a Certified Public Accountant or Tax Attorney familiar with US tax law if you don't already have one.

According to google, average pay for an accountant is $58,000/year. Average pay for a pole dancer is $67,000. I'd sue somebody but probably the judge will tell me that nobody wants to watch an accountant work.
