I don't buy the prison director participating
1) it's probably a violation of prisoner privacy rights
2) It's a security violation for him
3) He's an f-ing idiot if he puts his wife out where she can be recognized.
the latest jwdotorg experience tells of using video conferencing to hold congregation meetings inside jail for prisoners.
it says that the prison director himself and his wife have also started attending the zoom meetings and quotes him as saying.
“these meetings are of great importance for the spiritual and emotional well-being of the prisoners during this period of social isolation.

correct me if i'm wrong but about the same time this was activated was when the wt.
came out with the "we may receive instructions that may not seem practical from a human standpoint".
and it has been emphasized greatly regarding covid measures that "we must obey the superior authorities".
I've been hearing about secret govenment camps as long as I can remember. The people to be rounded up keeps changing, the surrounding story stays the same.
First it was going to be communists, then African-Americans, then anti-vietnam protesters, then hippies, then neo-nazis, then the KKK, then Republicans...
imagine you have a spoon and you dig out one scoop of soil from the ground in central new york.
then you put that soil in a bag and carry it with you as you travel from there to the grand canyon.
you repeat these steps until you have created another grand canyon in new york and filled the original one in arizona.
Psychologists talk about what they call the "I'll be happy when..." syndrome. It's a common problem, "I'll be happy when I get a better job" "I'll be happy when a buy a new car." "I'll be happy when I get married."
One time when we were leaving my wife said the JW view of the new system was the ultimate "I'll be happy when..."
what’s your opinion of sports teams postponing games either to recognize or protest a social issue cause?
?.
I have a hard time listening to a bunch of people whose income is roughly 1000x mine bitching about the country that makes such a thing possible. Watching this reminds me of a great scene in Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles" Clevon Little holding a gun to his own head "Stay back or the N----- gets it."
a few people have posted that i wrote my book to "make money.
"yes, i have made some money from this book but nothing to the comparison to the 11 years it took to write it and the cost to produce it.money was the last thing on my mind on my list of motivations/priorities in writing of this book.
my thought was if i could circumvent the pain and suffering that the watchtower bible & tract society/ jehovah's witnesses has caused to just one person's life than the book has served its purpose.i'm happy to announce the book is free for down load on amazon for the next 5 days.enjoy my friends.keith casaronap.s if after reading it, if you could post a review on amazon i would greatly appreciate it.
Congratulations on getting published.
As a published writer (two novels and a few business and academic papers) I can assure anybody who asks that its unlikely you're making enough money to think about. In ten years I've made about $2000.
Is this Kindle only, or is it available in other formats?
they are giving a beautiful witness of jehovah's organization, now let us see the fruits of their labor blossom.... ...nah i can't say that with a straight face.
let me back up and explain why i said that.
as many of you know that my husband's mother had been fighting cancer.
My condolences on your loss, and having to deal with heartless in laws as part of your struggle. In some ways they did give a good witness, everybody aware of this situation can see the cult for what it is.
as time goes on, i keep rethinking this whole thing about states' rights here in the us.
the more i think about it, i think less states' power may be a way to reduce some of the craziness going on.. as mentioned on another thread, you can't even drive now into some states without them checking your license tag where you are from so you have have to be quarantined.
states such as georgia are pretty much wide open.
People in this country (I'm in the US) think that freedom and democracy mean they can do whatever the hell they want. It doesn't work that way, the word liberty, as understood by the framers of the U S Constitution includes your responsibilities and duties to the society around you.
If you think that being told to wear a protective mask to mitigate the danger of disease to your family, friends, and neighbors is an infringment of your liberty you need to get a life. And maybe a sense of perspective.
a few weeks ago; a witness couple from the midwest reached out to me after 25+ years.
they said they were doing a letter writing campaign and decided to reach out to me… they called on my personal cell phone, which was a little surprising.
a few days ago, a couple that i knew from over 40 years ago, sent me a text, again to my personal cell phone.. i assume that they just googled my name to get the personal info.
You know, there's some old friends I'd love to sit and chat with about what's happened in the last thirty years or so. It would probably be a short conversation as soon as they figure out I'm done with the religion. I have a mental image of this conversation:
JW: "Say, Jeff, what does your congregation think of that beard?"
Me: "I have no idea, I haven't been in a Kingdom Hall since 1988."
Let them contemplate the meaning of that time frame.

“1912: War for the White House,” Book 2 in my Second Civil War alternate history, is now available on Amazon. Here’s the back cover:
The War of 1910, and the government scandals it exposed, shattered American confidence and trust in their government. Neither of the main political parties possessed the means to rebuild the Republic.
Robert Wilson Davies III, the most prominent member of a new political theory, dubbed “Rationalism” by its adherents, stepped into this vacuum. He promised to restore American society and lead it into a new and prosperous future filled with powerful technology.
But Rationalism harbored a dark secret: more than anything, Davies would stop at nothing to grasp control of the United States. If necessary, he would launch a war to seize the White House.
It’s in both Kindle and Paperback formats.

I'm working on the edits for the third book, after that I'm going to clean up the first of two novels based loosely on my time in the religion.
