Was 2019 the last convention ever?
by joey jojo inin a recent feel-good instagram post about the 2019 international convention, a jw remarked, "was it the last convention we will have?".
there is no doubt jw's feel they are truly special and that world events revolve around them directly.
there is also no doubt that whether we get a vaccine for covid or not, and at the moment, its looking very certain that we will, that the world will continue to spin and life will go on, regardless of the beliefs of the jw's.. once the pandemic is over i'm wondering if some jw's will realise that even though they lived through a notable period of time, life kept sailing on, and maybe they aren't that special after all?

Late thought, OK the brain is almost 70 years old and I haven't been in a Kingdom Hall since 1988, the gears turn slowly.
I seem to recall that we were told not to identify ourselves as Jehovah's Witnesses because only the 144,000 were the actual witnesses. We were "associated with Jehovah's witnesses." Maybe they're going back to old terminology.

I'd like to see the letter. I'm not a lawyer, but I was an accountant for twenty-six years. I have some professional understanding of legal matters.
This may well be used to try to legally sever the link between the individual Congregations and JW Org,
I don't think this can be done, at least not with anything like the current configuration of the Witness Organization. As long as money flows up and orders flow down, the link exists, whether or not the WTBS acknowledges it. And, as one of my accounting professors said "the first rule of law is sue somebody with money." I spent fifteen years in three congregations and I can only think of two elders that might have had enough money to make a lawyer interested in suing them.
In other words, playing word games won't shelter the WTBS

The covid vaccine and microchip fears
by BourneIdentity inwhy is there a group so fearful of being tracked?
if you carry around a cell phone, your every movement is being tracked, even if you disable it.
court proceedings have shown google and apple can hand all the data over of all your movement.

The chips would fail with the first patch update
I don't think they'd last that long.

Watchtowers next big revenue stream!
by nowwhat? inevidently it would seem the wt sold the rights and will get royalties from "listen obey and be blessed.." this obviously is a trial balloon for what's to come.
kim and mikey alluded to this and i have been wondering why they are planning on spending hundreds of millions on a new movie studio in n.y. and also in australia just for the benefit of the few million jdub's.
well here's the answer, they are going to make money off the royalties from their music and video content selling to other church groups.

They're going to have to hide their identity. Most main stream churches, and a lot of non main stream churches, regard JW's as doctrinal heretics.

The media is really showing its true face tonight. They're doing everything they can to pump up Biden's numbers. Trouble is, like they say, you aren't entitled to your own facts. And numbers are rather stubborn facts. -

Don't know who will win, the American people will lose.
In the late eighteenth century there were about three million Americans and the country was run by the likes of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, James Madison, James Monroe, Alexander Hamilton, Governeur Morris, George Mason, John Rutledge, Patrick Henry ...the list goes on.
Now there's 300 million of us and we've coughed up Trump, Biden, Pence, Harris Peolsi and McConnell. There's something wrong with this picture.

Some time back (I can't remember when) some NBA team from Detroit or Philadelphia or some blue collar city lost the championship. The fans, mad about a bad call or some such rioted. It was the usual stuff, turning cars over, burning dumpsters in the streets, stealing TV's etc.
The next year their team won. The city celebrated by turning cars over, burning dumpsters in the streets, stealing TV's etc.
I expect tomorrow night to be like that.

What`s wrong With American Politics ?
by smiddy3 inwhat`s wrong with american politics ?.
96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.
nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

In my opinion, the media have not done anything to make the situation better, and a lot to make it worse. Fox news is mostly a propaganda outlet for the Republican party. Everything else is 99% a propaganda outlet for the Democratic party. Actual Journalism is no longer practiced in this country. As a result, people think that sifting through the crap for bits you like is a good substitute for thinking.
