i know that my mom frequents these boards a lot, she says it has really helped her deal with her pain caused by the jw's.
i figured maybe you could help me out too.. i'll start by saying that i'm fifteen, and that i am in an unfavorable situation concerning my relationship with a witness.
my mom doesn't feel comfortable with me talking to this person, and she says that it is a bad thing to be talking to her.

I also try not to use the name "Jehovah" as an expletive.
That's just my personal choice, of course.
When I meet someone from my old KH, I just smile and greet them as usual. There's not much foundation in the dialogue for them to question anything about my past Dubness.

i really like the idea and thought what i would do is have an ask and answer thread about college to give me some ideas about what it is folks might want to know.

in view of the fact that bill bowen and others who have supported the silentlambs agenda have been disfellowshipped, do you think this means the end of their effectiveness?
comments on the board suggest that now, jw's won't come forward to bill because witnesses won't want to talk to a disfellowshipped person.
and some have said that this was the reason why they were fighting their disfellowshipping.

I was fortunately, never in that situation. However, had I been or known someone who was treated unfairly by local elders, I would definately speak up. I would try to get help from anyone who would listen. It wouldn't matter to me if they are DF or not.
The reason so many abuse victims don't get help, I think, is because they fear they won't be believed. The feelings of isolation from having their complaint dismissed by elders, I imagine, could be overwhelming. Fortunately there is Bill and Silentlambs.
For everbody out there who has been a victim and is a lurker: Don't hold back a complaint against someone. Bill is the same, DF or not and he is there to help you. He has put everything on the line for that purpose. You are not alone.

That's how you tell them off! I for one am not at all surprised that other elders in congregations who know about Bill and all that he has gone through aren't BRAVE enough to resign and thus send a message to the GB regarding their insane, evil policies.
