hi folks, .
i,ve been lurking for ages and had a password months ago.
only today i've been able to get in.
Hi and welcome aboard !

if you needed my background, this thread will tell it-.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121888/1.ashx.
my wife recently asked me about not commenting at a wt study.. our discussion was the topic of this thread-.
Why did you need so badly to get a master's degree- against WT policy?...You're not pioneering....
Your wife has a college degree and isn't pioneering. I can just see her posting here with us in the next year or so.
She's a thinker, but seems to cling to the Jdubs for social reasons.
Expanding her social circle to include non witness friends will be a very important factor in helping her feel more at ease and break away from the religion.

ok, for those of us non-, and never before-jw's, will someone please explain what the big deal is about having responsibility for microphones is all about?
we do use microphones in our church, but ....i mean whoever is in charge of any technology that day sets up microphones.
it could be anyone in the church, male or female, young or old, the pastor, the janitor.
..you must be a shining example to the old and young before you are allowed to join the hallowed ranks of the microphone holder.....and have the awesome responsibility of turning them "on" or "off."
LOL
I needed that laugh...

one of my clients who also happens to be close friend went mia for most of last week.
i called him a few times with out a response from him, so i assumed he was sick and would get back to me when he felt better.. i spoke with him this morning and he was very depressed, apparently his wife of 9 years admitted to him last week that their 6 year old son may not be his.. apparently she had an affair with a man about 7 years ago for 2 months.
he was traveling to the west coast every other week for business at the time, but he never had a clue.. he is upset and fuming mad.
but whats worse he knows that he and his wife need to resolve the paternity question.
The wife's disclosure at this time may very well get her DF for hiding the facts for so long. Only the wife knows why she kept it secret so long.
The marriage will likely end in divorce, but it may be saved with an enourmous amount of effort on the part of both of them and some intensive counseling. As far as the paternity issue, most states have limitations to disprove paternity with DNA evidence. It is likely that he will remain the legal father.
A divorce will not change his obligation to pay child support even if the 6 year old is not biologically his. (Except if they live in Georgia were a law allows a presumed father who can prove he is not the biological father with DNA evidence to give up legal rights and obligations if he choses to do so http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2001_02/fulltext/hb369.htm)
It's always good to provide an honest answer to the child, if he ever starts asking--which may happen as he gets older.
His pediatrician should know about the real biological father in case there are any heriditary medical issues that need to be addressed.

there is a significant difference in the prices of houses that are built of brick exterior to comparably sized ones with vinyl exterior.
i assumed brick costs more because it's more durable, but was surprised to find that brick houses such as the one i chose at random pictured here for sale in texas actually costs over 50k dollars less than the one with the vinyl exterior in the far northern us.
both have four bedrooms.
IF all other factors ...were equal, a brick home would be much more valuable than one with vinyl siding, simply because brick cost more to buy, and takes much more labor to build. It is widely perceived as being more durable, and I've lived in brick apartment buildings which were more than 100 years old.
That's what I always thought.
When having to choose between equal circumstances, with the exterior being the only difference, I think brick makes more sense if someone wants to settle in a home for a really long time.
I would also feel safer simply because I've seen wind gusts greater than 50 miles an hour make frame houses with vinyl exterior shake, rattle and roll.

I was considering the cost of replacing the vinylof the northern house.
Would not the long winters, wind and snow cause the vinyl to be subject to damage? Whereas if a house is built of brick it can withstand extreme temperatures. It seems like the brick would be the better long-term, less maintenance investment.

Denton, Texas $150,000
All Brick Exterior
Rochester, MN $207,900
Mostly Vinyl Siding
jwd to me, and for some like me, is my morning coffee.
if its not up, like earlier today, it gets me to thinking, what if this were a permanent thing?
what if jwd were actually shut down like our friend quotes site in 2006?
How about for a plan B clicking on this link to chat with others from the home page of REEXAMINE.ORG
I'll be there later this evening to see if it will work as a plan B
YC
OK, I tried the link "Reexamine Chat" and it doesn't work, Can reexaminer tell us when it may be working??? Back to the drawing board...
i recently read of a survey regarding unhappy wives.
it seems that nearly most women wouldn't do it all over again with the same man.
they were unhappy for various reasons.
the amount of men who are bringing up another mans child attest to this.
Actually "the amount of men who are bringing up another mans child" attests to their failure to get a DNA paternity test.

If he wants to fool around, as the saying goes, he can't stay in that relationship.
Blueblades, that's a pretty simple concept isn't it? I wonder why some guys just don't get it.
