  "in order to avoid misunderstandings, jehovahs witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves.

  instead of saying, "the society teaches," many witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the bible says" or, "i understand the bible to teach.

  CoCo, you are right on with the current trend.

  I recently had a conversation with an active JW and that person said: "I'm free to do what I want, I don't obey God's law's because I may get DF. I obey because I want to."

  To this I explained that when the "people in Brooklyn" give an order to the JW's and the JW typical response is "how high?" They obey the self- appointed GB not to the Scriptures. Then I continued with "the Bilble, for example, doesn't say anywhere you can't observe Thanksgiving, but you don't do it because the guys in Brooklyn tell you not to." The JW then just looked pensive, you could see the wheels turning in their brainwashed mind. So sad how they are in denial as to who is their real master.

  Sometimes I wonder where the time has gone.

  The illusion I used to believe:

  "Millions now living will never die." will not really happen.

  This life really is ALL we have.

  If you knew you had just one more year to accomplish one or two things: what would it be?

  I would just want to live life to the fullest and that's being with my kids and hopefully vising interesting places with them.

  Some help please- advice

  i have a problem.

  i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.

  that is not the surprise.

  In a kind manner thank your mom and tell her firmly but gently that you will NOT be attending because you have to buy

  thinigs at the Pottery Barn Baby Department to prepare for your new baby girl.

  Ask her to go with you and she can help select the baby items.

  One of her buddies can just record the audio of the lectures for her.

  Hi all,

  Well, I went back because I wanted to check out their entrees.

  The sandwich plate is very generously served. The manager dude, said he's expecting

  a lot of people on July 4th.

  PS. If I really get into party mode by next week,

  I may decide to wear my animal-print dress... Nah, that may be -too bold.... must be modest

  Why's everybody getting divorced????!

  this is insanity!

  literally four couples that i know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses.

  and there are a couple on here whom i've discovered are separating as well (these two i do not know personally, but i'm a little surprised & saddened regardless).
