  What's The Biggest Difference In Today's JWs And The Witnesses From Decades Ago?

  i believe today's witnesses lack zeal, resolve, "love" of the "truth"......just to name a few things.. years ago, witnesses were excited to knock on doors and tell people they were gonna die if they didn't accept paradise.. now, when you see jws in service, they all look zombied out.. it's a slowly dying religion that will last probably forever like an ancient rotted out tree..

  Oz.. I remember those dramas we kids would put on at the hall.. I was nervous as hell, the time I played Jesus!

  Years later, I caught up with the brother who organised those.. he'd gotten out of the borg.. not sure if that was before or after his wife ran off with another bloke, though..

  Are You Afraid To Die Alone?

  I've already died by shooting, stabbing, drowning, starving, freezing, burning, hanging, falling, suffocating, being eaten alive, and too many other ways to mention. And I'm still here.

  I dunno.. guess I'll see when the time comes.. earthquake, volcanic eruption, nuclear explosion.. so many interesting deaths to choose from.. but whatever.. I know it's just a blip in an ongoing adventure.

  DO YOU BELIEVE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES "SHUNNING" OF MINORS IS CHILD ABUSE?

  i have been reading countless heartbreaking accounts on this site of children of jehovah's witnesses being "disfellowshipped" and shunned by entire families, their congregations, basicly everyone they have ever known for simply questioning their parent's religion!!.

  some have been tossed out of family homes to live in cars!!!

  this is not christian.

  Shunning a minor would be neglect

  It is much more than neglect.. it's emotional abuse.. which can be worse than physical abuse.

  i miss a few but honestly i could count them on one hand after being in the organization for almost 5 decades.

  some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

  the best bible scholars have been women in my realm of this religious world.

  the women study their husbands watchtowers, prepare the parts, write their talks, put their ties on, get the shave cream out of their ears.

  it must be hard and you must have the patiences of job, to be able to listen to, the many arrogant men and how you will (if you are a female annointed.

  The Reach Out WT Article, I don't know whether to scream or to laugh

  i held off long enough in reading the wt article for the study in january.

  there is was, two articles about reaching out for the office of elder.. after finishing the article my reaction to it was anger.

  they made it seem that there is something wrong with you if you don't reach out in this way.. our congregation has more deleted elders than active elders.

  Death is like getting out of an old, broken-down car, and into a shiny new one.. there's nothing scary about it, except what we tell ourselves beforehand.

  Giving a thorough witness at the laundry

  there are a couple of public laundry facilities i pass by every day on my way to and from work.

  on the occassions i have to take my bed comforter down to the big machines, i always see the magazines sitting around.

  i'm thinking of making a bi-weekly stop at these places to add a note to each magazine.. i noticed on this forum someone suggested using a marker to write jwfacts.com, or some such thing.
