I'm eating some thin mints right now lol. Even before I left I used to buy them, as well as my family. We didn't care our rebellion on that was going to help little girls w/ their summer camp activities unlike the GB.

Let's make Jehovah happy.
by Honesty injehovah looked down in 1919 and saw the jehovah's witnesses celebrating christmas and worshiping jesus so he sent jesus down to inspect them.. .
jesus liked what he saw and appointed them to be jehovah's channel.. .
let's all become jehovah's witnesses so jehovah will be happy with us too.

He also likes how his people are being taught to be punctual for all occasions, to not play music too loud at gatherings, to make sure nobody is the center of attention at gatherings but that all people talk equally, to not join the YMCA because they support a religion that doesn't have the current new light, how a person's character can be determined based on measuring their nose and it's shape, etc.

Space/Time and speed of light to explain how quick God created the Earth
by EndofMysteries injust a random thinking outside the box thought i had today.
it began with doing a little more reading about space/time.
scientifically, it's known that as one approaches the speed of light, time slows down for them.

Just a random thinking outside the box thought I had today. It began with doing a little more reading about space/time.
Scientifically, it's known that as one approaches the speed of light, time slows down for them.
Just to be sure Cofty won't cry about not reading a 'basic' book vs credible internet resources, I'll quote from a 'basic' book, "String Theory for Dummies" http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/slowing-time-to-a-standstill-with-relativity.html
Here is a small example to explain how for what could be seconds for a person ends up being thousands of years for those on Earth...
"""One other case where time slows down, this time in general relativity, involves black holes. Recall that a black hole bends space-time itself, to the point where even light can’t escape. This bending of space-time means that as you approach a black hole, time will slow down for you relative to the outside world.
If you were approaching the black hole and your best friend Dean was far away watching (and could somehow watch “instantly,” without worrying about the time lag from light speed), Dean would see you approach the black hole, slow down and eventually come to rest to hover outside of it. Through the window of your spaceship, Dean would see you sitting absolutely still.
You, on the other hand, would not notice anything in particular — at least until the intense gravity of the black hole killed you. But until then, it certainly wouldn’t “feel” like time was moving differently. You’d have no idea that as you glide past the black hole’s event horizon (which you possibly wouldn’t even notice), thousands of years were passing outside of the black hole."""
If a human was moving at close to the speed of light or could hit it, would not 1 day for them would equal thousands, millions, billions of years?
So whether the bible is talking about 6 human standpoint days or 6 symbolic days, if it was 6 literal days from our standpoint if a human was moving at those speeds it would be 6 days for them but untold number of years on Earth, same principle would apply to God.

Can god see into the future?
by DuvanMuvan inthis is something that's been bothering me for a while.. if god could see into the future, why has he allowed so many bad things to happen?
for example in the garden of eden.
he should have known from the beginning what would happen.if there was even the tiniest chance that they'd eat the fruit then god obviously didn't think it would be benefical to, idk, prevent it from happening?

DuvanMuvan - on the tree aspect, if you look for other instances of the tree, keyword being eden as in the 'trees of eden', you'll find them likened to living thinking entities, which could imply they may by symbolized as a tree. Just like when Jesus spoke of the 'bread' of the pharasees, bread meaning words and teachings, so could the 'fruit' of the tree of knowledge of good and evil be words, teachings, spoken knowledge of good and evil, etc.
take that to another set of possibilities such as this. God either divided himself into 2 halves, or created a clone of himself seperated into 2 halves. Male and Female, etc. (queen of the heavens, YHWH and his asherah, emnity between the womens seed and his seed, etc, an opposition)
The good side wants eternal life for good people, the good side KNOWS that the opposition MUST oppose. So the good side develops a plan to give eternal life to the good and not curse creation with eternal evil beings or at the very least seperate them. So a rule is made that sin against God equals death. The good side also knows that the knowledge of good and evil is a good thing to know, so that one does not do evil. The good side KNOWS that the created adam and eve do not know good or evil, so they don't know sin, they don't even understand perhaps what is wrong with not obeying. The good side then makes a plan, it will tell adam and eve they can eat from every tree, except the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It knows that it's good to know good and evil, it KNOWS that the opposition side will HAVE to oppose him and try to make them eat of it, it knows they will eventually die, but now conditions can be setup to that the GOOD gets life and the bad will get eternal seperation, death, etc.
When the opposer then asks eve and inquired if there was anything they were told they could not do, and the plan played out perfectly.
Now all humans have a basic understanding, enough so that even Jesus said those who don't have the law can be judged and in their hearts know good and bad. Once enough life has gone through this Earthly testing ground, then God will have sorted out and can move on to the next phase, if there is one. Either this is all the life and that's it, or perhaps those who pass this testing ground may be given positions to rule over new life and planets, who knows. But this is a testing and teaching phase. God doesn't have to say a word to you to learn, sometimes through pain, how you felt when things happened to you and to understand how it would be to do them to others etc.

RELIGIOUS LEADERS sometimes predict tragic worldwide events to warn mankind and gather followers. Doomsday prophet Charles Russel and his disciples widely advertised that the earth would be destroyed in 1914. Needless to say, the world is still here.

Most of the time, UNLESS it's 'the generation' or something that is too hard to sneakily change, the WT doesn't close the door formally on old doctrine. They will either very slowly or wait a long time and just release a change without acknowledging it was wrong to begin with.
A great example of this is how Rutherford taught that there was NO holy spirit since 1918ish. That doctrine was what gave him power, since Jesus returned, holy spirit was no longer needed. Just like when Jesus was on Earth, he told his disciples he must leave and he'll send the helper, (the holy spirit) to teach them. So Rutherford claimed Jesus returned, invisibly, and the only way to get the truth and understand the bible now was through Jesus select channel, the WT, aka Rutherford, because nobody could get holy spirit to understand the scriptures anymore. He taught that the method Jesus communicated was none of anybody's business nor their place to question, but it could be angels, or the anointed who had gone 'beyond the veil' (died). After Rutherford died, perhaps over a period of 15/20 years, Knorr never formally rejected that previous teaching, they just let holy spirit creep back in.
Think about it, if Jesus and angels were having direct communication and orders, then NOTHING could be wrong, their false predictions couldn't blame human imperfection. So knorr let holy spirit or spirit directed enter into the mix. However, when previously holy spirit could be had by ANYBODY and ANYBODY could understand, they didn't want to give up their exclusive power, so spirit directed crept in, allowed them to be false prophets and twist things to say they were still in charge and nobody can learn except through them, etc.

the bible and its prophecies
by Crazyguy ini have been doing a lot of research on the bible and its roots so to speak and its becoming clearer that the jews like other races took gods and stories from others and made them their own.
its also become clear that many of the books were written later then stated, like daniel probably written about a hundred years before christ and some of it maybe even after.
but what i don't get is the prophecies.

EndofMysteries
crazyguy - have you ever read the dead sea scrolls, book of enoch, etc? Anyway....those are known to have been done before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70CE. I've found it interesting that the curse (I think somewhere in Duet) that would go upon Israel has/had actually happened. What Jesus foretold would happen to physical Jerusalem in his generation actually happened.
I forgot offhand but was Revelation written before or after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70CE? If it was written after, then the book of Revelations references to Babylon written in Jeremiah would not make any sense at all. The book of Revelation is not a stand alone book, it's almost like an outline or key where it may say a sentence or two about something but elsewhere in the bible it has 2 chapters of details on that specific event. So Babylon falling is brief in revelation, and has about 2 chapters in Jeremiah, etc.

This is going to be incredible hard to understand in so few words and with no illustrations, etc, one day I'll have all of this put together. In the beginning there was chaos. God began to make seperations and distinctions and create order out of chaos. At the same time he did so with good and evil. He chose good and we are still in a seperation phase. Now if it's true that matter can not be created nor destroyed, take that concept and imagine when creating order out of chaos and a seperation of good and evil that this also applies to good or evil. There are several possibilities but in the end Gods plan is for the good and evil to be permanately seperated. Banished from each other. It could be all creation is being sorted or possibly a division within each creation. (meaning the good and evil inside each living thing will be divided)
Call the good heaven, new world, etc, call the evil lake of fire, etc.
In the end, the evil is either eternally seperated or rounded up and eternally destroyed.
