"Those words show that God wants people to gather as an organized group for worship". They are getting pretty blatant now. That is one doctrine they never want to be flexible on for 'new light', as normally they would say, "Evidently, those words show that God wants people to gather as an organized group for worship."

"Organized Religion" as per WBTS - Awake! July 2014
by bats in the belfry in.

russell 's asking of hs in this matter was certainly not of the same quality as today's spirit-guided knowledge and understanding of the gb.. what do you make of it?.

Here is how they twist reasoning.....
they quote the scripture about all speaking in agreement, then they say that means each would be in organized religion and not have their own interpretation.
The TRUE untwisted reasoning on those scriptures is that what is taught as doctrine and truth would be so evident and absolute that ALL would in their hearts and minds agree with it and believe it whether taught it or learned alone from bible reading.
Anything that is up for many explanations would be left up to the individual, as the borg calls a 'conscious matter'.
No scriptures back up that a few people set a doctrine and everybody believes it just to be in agreement.
All christian faiths believe Jesus died for their sins, JW's included. That would be one of the 'in agreement' doctrines.
There is much dispute over Jesus in relation to the father, that would be a personal belief.

Taking a blood transfusion is a worse sin than committing suicide
by EndofMysteries inaccording to this news report http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-27292918, a jw cut his wrist but was caught before he died.
if only a blood transfusion will save his life, he is refusing based on belief as a jw and is supported on that, including his jw father.
it's funny many religions put suicide as a really bad sin, but in this case it shows on jw standards taking blood is worse then suicide.

by EndofMysteries ini just read this article about luther and i'll quote a paragraph.
it's interesting how you can substitute a few words and see it identical to the wt.
now let me substitute pope and catholic church for governing body and watchtower...... .

When a coin in the coffer rings, a soul from purgatory springs.
by EndofMysteries inthat was the line used by catholic salesman john tetzel that helped infuriate martin luther into posting the 95 theses that lead to the reformation and downfall of the catholic church.
with all the money begging and such by the gb now, does anybody want to guess what catchprases they may start using?
i'll start off, "a donation a day, keeps the judicial committee away".

Holocaust bible prophecy?
by EndofMysteries inrussell taught and believed that the jews would be restored to israel.
the bible does say that and it did end up happening.
rutherford dropped that teaching about 5 years i think before it actually happened.

People put JW's in the same category as any religion. That is simply not true and so shouldn't be viewed as such.
The religion or leadership of the religion lies, uses deception, then brainwashes it's followers so they lose themselves and unable to make decisions for themselves.
JW's put a public face that they only study the bible, no human is their leader, they are united in thought because they have the truth, and everybody is free to live their lives how they so choose and it's a worldwide brotherhood of like minded people. People aren't forced into anything and free to come and go as they choose. If that was the case, nobody would have a problem with it.
Instead, they pretend it's that, then once a person is inside they are brainwashed into not doing higher education, cutting off relationships with all nonmembers, not saving or planning for the future, and shunning or being shunned if they leave or somebody they care about leaves, etc. Those practices SHOULD be banned.
It's not so much ban the religion but ban the practices that violate human rights and are deceptive since they are a religion that actively seeks out members instead of having them come to them.

Russell taught and believed that the Jews would be restored to Israel. The bible does say that and it did end up happening.
Rutherford dropped that teaching about 5 years I think before it actually happened.
The scriptures about unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved but on account of the chosen/holy(don't have bible handy atm to read it) those days will be cut short.
If memory serves me right the natural jews are called the holy or chosen in early christianity. During the holocaust they were being exterminated and if those days were not cut short and Nazi's defeated, none of them would have survived.
Also I believe the extermination camps were from 1941 to 1945, possibly 3.5 years, and a ton of those prophecies points to the middle of a week 3.5, or time times and half a time which is 3.5, or 42 months 3.5 years, etc.
Also the 1,000 year reign is different in the scriptures then how the WT taught. With human governments and kingdoms still around during that time and by the end all submit to God. If it is all true then perhaps it began after WW2 and the world will have slow improvements over the next 920 years.

Amazing Experience while in the Door to Door field service.. The work really is speeding up.
by objectivetruth ina pioneer sister who just returned from pioneer school, and her elder husband, who was previously in bethel are in service.. when they come to an enthusiastic house holder.
after discussing the glorious messianic kingdom that has been ruling since 1914,err 1919 the house holder says "ok this really is good news, what must i do to be saved??".
brother elder and sister pioneer elder both look at each other, and they know right away the best answer... sister pioneer reaches into her bag pulling out her km approved preaching tablet device (she waves it around a. bit, with the purpose of impressing the householder how advanced the wt is), she then says i want to show you our website, jw .

According to the GB salvation depends on...(I'll leave it to you all to pull up the articles)
- Using only 1 paper towel while using the restroom at the circuit and district conventions
- Being on time and a few minutes early for everything in life
- Not having the music volume too loud at your wedding
- Staying at an overpriced hotel 1 to 2 hours away from the district convention site because it's on the list when there is a nice affordable hotel across the street available that is not on the list.
- Being 'in the truth'
- Knowing that 'the truth' merely means preaching and going to meetings twice a week and conventions telling you how important it is to be in the truth and telling others about the truth so they can spread the truth.
- "The Truth" is in simple terms obeying the GB, singing their praises, and going in service to tell others to obey them and do the same.
- Knowing that you can't understand the bible and if you have a different undering from the GB then it means demons are influencing you. If the GB undertanding of the bible is incorrect that is human imperfection. THey are not inspired but they are spirit directed which means anything they say is from God but even though it's always been wrong that is human imperfection but they are still spirited directed even though not inspired.
