  New Revised NWT Inspection Project

  anyone here interested in splitting up the new bible by books to compare it to the old one and see if there are any significant changes they are hiding in there that weren't announced at the annual meeting today?

  If the download can be gotten in PDF or EPUB format then with a little reformating through Calibre or another ebook editor app you can get a plain text to compare digitally for both editions. A good text editor would give you the ability to make a side by side comparison of changes between texts for each verse.

  Taking in knowledge question-new light, new study?

  i am just wondering, say a jw just had a study this past week and the non jw (study) questioned the jw teaching of 'taking in knowledge' and naturally the jw gave the jw view of it in length (last weeks 'light').

  now, they have their handy dandy new nwt that changes that entirely.

  let's say the study came from a traditional christian backround that always had it as 'knowing' (as in a personal relationship) and struggled with the jw view but decided, ok, whatever, i'll go along for now... so next week is another study, how does the jw handle that?

  The JW R&F usual response would be to way "Isn't it wonderful that the organization is always willing to update its understanding?"

  I don't think it would present a problem for any true mind loyal JWs. However, I do think that for some it may be a turning point to start opening their eyes to the lies and mind control of the WT organization.

  first 30 min announcing a collection of bibles collected from r & f that is to go on display at bethel.

  also accounts of how they "miraculously" received bibles that they didn't think they could get - eg.

  geneva bible.. now - watchtower study review as there is no meeting tomorrow..

  an annual meeting is a legal requirement for a corporation.. the watchtower annual meeting (agm) is a legal event that has become the biggest spiritual event of the year, overshadowing what is supposed to be the most important event, the memorial of christ's death.. praise be to the governing buddies who sit on the throne of christ..

  Best thing non-JWs and ex-JWs could do for JWs is to not look the other way, not ignore the WT, not go off and start their own cult.

  But the best thing would be to help JWs see the WT for what it really is. A real-estate holdings and publishing corporation operating under the umbrella of being a non-profit religious organization that uses mind control techniques to provide itself with free volunteer workers labor for its own ends.

  To walk away from exposing the truth about The Truth(R) is to allow it to harm others as we were harmed.

  If we can do anything to help stop the WT from doing more harm then the right and moral thing is to step up and do so in whatever fashion we are able.

  the new [revised] nwt (n-nwt) apparently has simplified, contemporary language that can be understood by the people of today (with 13% less clutter, and fewer references to kidneys) who are now contemporaries of the 1914 generation.

  i can only imagine some of the newly revised passages (starting with a conversation between adam and eve after the big oopsie).i know the pdf version will be online soon.

  i do wonder about the full searchable version on jw.org and when that will go live.

  JW New Bible

  there's a lot of rumble in the grapevine of jws that there difinitely is a new bible that 'mother' is releasing at the upcoming agm.. it would be awesome if we could get a sneak peek at some of the changes.

  sure would be nice if some of the lurkers on this forum who work at bethel in the writing, shipping or printing department could help us out.

  this would really irritate 'mom'!.

  I would like to see both the old and new versions put into a word processor to identify every change.

  To do this is would be good to get the text from JW.org and put it into a txt file.

  Then when the new Bible is released go back to the site and download the update.

  Change this to a txt and then filter both files to compare.

  GOD I hope they lose...

  I second that! If it does continue I hope the WTS falls flat on their nasty big brother face and has to shelve out the big bucks.

  When they finally lose I hope some major TV network news program does an indepth expose' and puts the WTS dirty laundry on the air.

  If this encourages further lawsuits against the WTS so much the better!

  Good Friend of mine gets a response to his letter about Russell...

  so a good friend of mine who had an issue with the fact that charles taze russell was given the understanding of 2520 and 1914 etc.. and was not of the faithful slave.

  he asked how could it be possible that jah would bless someone who was not part of his organization to have such understanding after reading the july 15 wt.

  he read me the letter as a way to help me understand and accept the watchtower.

  I've seen others reframe issues and stay on message but the Witnesses seem to excel at it.

  Yup! I agree, just like the Pharisees of old they are the masters of hypocrisy and double-talk.

  How do you know the WTS is reframing issues and twisting the Bible to suit their agenda?

  When they publish anything. Bunch of vipers in the writing dept. to start with!
