Yeah well I believe in Zeus. I know that many people have questioned his past and current presence in our lives but he's real. Just look outside next time there's thunder and lightning - there's solid proof of his existence. And every time someone is struck by lightning I can assure you that even though they seem like regular, ordinary people, they've been judged by the king of all gods and sentenced. It's true - look it up. And when you realize that Zeus is real, you'll give up your silly notions about this Hebrew god. So say we all.

Repent because God's Kingdom has drawn close!
by Kosonen inhere on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.
consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.
and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

I found it!
by N.drew inthis is an illustration that best describes in human terms what i believe eve did.. picture the litle pieces of paper that contain an alcohol prep swab.. sometimes i come accross one that is old*, and it's been hanging around for a while.. so what comes to mind is; "i wonder if it is still damp?".
i could open it to check (that is what our mother did).. or i could throw it away (that is what god did not do).. or i could leave it alone.. if i open it, then i will either pretend i need it and use it, then throw it away.. or i should throw it away.

ummmm Nancy? Could you try re-wording your original post, and perhaps this time read it to yourself as though you have no idea what you're talking about, re-word it again and THEN click submit? If everyone is confused by what you're trying to say, it's got to be because you're not entirely clear. Just a thought...

Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

So Mankelli - what's your opinion on the pedophile scandals in the watchtower society?

This has to be the most frustrating run around of the obvious...why anyone would vehemently advocate living a lie and teaching their children what they know to be lies is beyond my comprehension. Human connections (including family) come and go over the course of a lifetime and when those connections are based on false and transient feelings because of brainwashing there's not much to cling to anymore.
Sheesh.

An Old Argument.... does it hold water?
by AK - Jeff inestimates range from 4 million to 15 million children die from starvation each year on this planet.
that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.
still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.

You truly have a dizzying intellect. (I plagerized that, BTW)
