  Hi - I'm new here!

  i have been lurking on this site for the past 2 months.

  for the past few years i have been going to the meetings and doing fieldservice out of guilt.. my husband (twisty) told me regularly i only do it out of guilt but i denied it and said it i want to do these things because i love jehovah and it is the right thing to do, but how can it be the right thing if you don't feel welcome and it feels like everyone is judging you the moment you walk into the kingdom hall.. it has taken a few years and a lot of tears to open my eyes.. over the past few years twisty spoke to me about the various things he didn't agree with but it just went over my head.

  a few months ago we were lying in bed and he brought up his concerns again, and i'm not sure what was different this time but i understood and agreed with the points he was making.

  I think the problem here is that (if trthskr is to be believed) he/she only has an outsider perspective of JW's based on a love bombing offensive from relatives or friends. Not everyone sees the dark side of this religion - even if they've been immersed in it for decades and I'm speaking from experience here.

  But believe me when I tell you trthskr, there are a LOT of very ugly things that have happened and continue to happen in this religion. I truly hope that you can allow yourself to think rationally and read with an open mind some of the real truths here or at jwfacts.com.

  Everything isn't black and white in the world.

  Unless you're a JW...then EVERYTHING is black and white - at least as pertains to the butts in the chairs. Every minutia of daily life has a rule about it in one way or another. But those same rules don't apply to the leaders at the top because they can do whatever they want with impunity and make exuses for it afterwards if they're found out. That's why we get a little picky and snippy over the whole NGO thing.

  I'm pretty sure they still have a UN affiliation under some other name as an NGO...don't they have to in order to facilitate their overseas operations? I think I know someone whose brother in law is the UN rep under one of the WT's other names. I'll make a phone call...

  i read with great interest the evil spirits thread, amazed at the ignorance on this forum concerning the occult.. if you do not believe in the spirit world, you are certainly akin to toothless hillbillies.

  good for moonshine making, cousin marrying and not much else.. both the usa and the russians continue to pursue the occult, following in the foorsteps of nazi germany.

  they are not ignorant people, such as yourselves.. hopefully, you non-believers will slowly breed yourselves out of the population, since you are the ones holding back progress, with your precious "science" which is really bullshit in disguise.. so tell me, what separates you "intellectuals" from those so called ancient ignorants?
