  the ark pictures the response to one kind.. it means the customs of the people can cause catastrophe.. and most people did not stop the destructive behavior , but some used it to be redeemed.. .

  sodom pictures the other kind.. it means the people respond badly to the intuitive recognition that doom is ahead.. .

  in one case what the people are doing causes something bad.

  Why would any self-respecting person keep approaching flesh and blood who have so completely and utterly scorned him?

  I don't believe the 'young man' in question is over 30 or even approching 30. I could be wrong but I don't remember the WT referring to people around 30 as 'young', especially where men are concerned because by that age they should bloody well be an elder or at the very least an MS. Probably around 25 or 26 at most and was df'd as a teenager. It isn't even necessary to read between the lines to see how hard core this 'exemplary' family is, so the kid was probably unceremoniously kicked to the curb at 17 or 18 and left to fend for himself with no way of really knowing how to be happy.

  Having said all of that, I don't think this is real either - just a happy amalgem of many stories of deprivation and heartache to draw from.

  It's emotional blackmail, pure and simple and they use it all the time in every possible circumstance. It's the same technique that's used when a JW finds out someone they work with or a neighbor has had a death in the family only the opposite side of the coin. The df'd JW has love and family ties withheld until they buckle under & 'come back to the truth' and the non JW is flooded with promises of seeing their deceased love one again if they 'learn the truth'. Bah.

  I live in a world where morals and ethics dont exist. Im tired of feeling alone all the time. People are flaky fake liars. Wish I knew of a group dedicated to integrity and serving god.

  A comment like this makes me worry that a) you're trying to start a cult or b) that you're about to strap a bomb to yourself and walk into a crowded mall. Either way, please get some therapy because your view of the world around you is deluded and dangerous.
