Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

sometimes the delusional mind of jws takes steroids.. it was during the draw close to jehovah study where they praise the mosaic law and how perfectly wonderful it was.
you should have seen the almost giddy attitude the conductor had and the comments from the audience.

I remember back when I was a full on zealot and my sister and I decided that it would be absolutely brilliant to read a few chapters of the bible together every day so we would take turns reading out loud. When we got to stuff like this, like where the passages seem to revel in slaughter, it was very uncomfortable and sometimes we would look at one another and just go 'holy crap that's kinda brutal'. We soldiered on (pardon the pun) but it stuck in my head that something was very wrong here - I just couldn't admit it to myself just yet.

by Crazyguy inmy question is since it looks as though mammoths were alive after the flood and we know elephants are then how much food was needed to feed just these four animals for the time they were on the ark.
also was the ark, 500 feet long, big enough to hold the amount of food needed for just these 4 animals.. .

GB Gerrit Losch and his questionable article in the 7/14 WT study edition!!!
by ADJUSTMENTS inin this article gerrit talks about his father in the first and last paragraphs, what he says about him and his hope for him goes against all that witnesses have preached about the worldly for the last 100 years... as i recall aren't all the worldly supposed to be destroyed and never have a hope of everlasting life like jw's are, and isn't that the purpose of the preaching work to baptize and warn the worldly of this???
if not why do jws even preach, or even become jws in the first place if all have a hope of everlasting life, jw and non-jw, are they releasing a little hint at new light to come???
or am i just missing or over analyzing something?.

Sigh...I think Losch is a giant douchbag (or Loschbag if you will), but just because his father was conscripted into the German army, it didn't make him a warmonger. My grandfather was also conscripted into the German army even though his family had not lived in Germany for generations. He didn't want to go, he was obligated by law to go and fight in a shitty war and had a family which made dodging the draft a very unpleasant prospect in that part of Europe at the time.
Just sayin...
Oh and the whole fantasy of resurrection is just that - a fantasy. This fantasy does keep a billion dollar corporation alive and free of paying taxes however, so yeah, there's that.
