  My friends don't believe dinosaurs existed ....

  i just found this out last night.

  (preface: this is a husband and wife that i have come to be friends with after leaving the borg, they are christians).

  we were sitting around visiting last night and having a good time when my friend starts in on illegal immigration and politics and starts throwing out his hate speech which eventually turns to homosexuals.

  The bible also says that the earth has foundations, four corners, pillers and having a cornerstone. There are more verses that state those as descriptions than the one saying that the earth hangs on nothing. The verse that speaks of the earth being a circle follows that statement by desbribing the heavens as a curtain that are stretched out like a tent.

  It's definitely hard to start asking difficult questions and it's nice to see you doing that, Chris. :)

  "of course,a close relationship will not last if one person does all the talking.

  (in this case it is me talking to god)just as friends enjoy two-way communication,(right on)we should allow god to speak to us(yes i have allowed him to speak but he says nothing)and we should listen to him when he does.

  (iam still waiting for him to say something).

  Why do "Apostates/exjws" always go into "Watchtower-bashing" when you show them inconsistencies in the Bible?

  i have noticed with "apostates/exjws" they always resort to "watchtower-bashing" whenever you show them inconsistencies of the bible.

  we could be talking about contradictions, such as where did cain get his wife if adam,eve, abel, and cain were the only ones on earth?

  the usual answer when they cannot answer will be "well the wt gave false prophecies in 1975".

  I think because that for most of us, it's our religious frame of reference and we can identify with how easy it is to believe outrageous things that have no basis in fact. Also because it's an ex-JW site so we can use language that other ex-JW's will understand, which we can't do with the average person we come into contact with should a similar topic come up for conversation.

  why didnt God just do this?

  for one thing, i cant get past genesis, but no matter.. when god told adam and eve if you eat from the tree youll die.

  so why did he not simple let them die and not allow the offspring to?.

  you see, if i was a god, and i told two people that, id let them die , .

  It's pretty easy to understand why believers are so desperate to prove that the Genesis account must be accurate. Without Genesis being correct, there's no need for a savior and hence, no Jesus required.
