This shows why child protection laws are in place since organisations have a vested interest in keeping things quiet. This is gut wrenchingly horrible news for all concerned. May this serve as a warning to all parents to be ever vigilant. I hope they get to feel the full force of the law.

Holy Prepuce! Just when you thought it was safe to go back to Church
by designs insomeone posted this on my facebook page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/holy_prepuce.
veneration of the foreskin of jesus.
of course as a male jewish baby he would have been circumcised but the 'holy foreskin' was somehow found and made into a relic.

Holy relics form part of the history of the church. There are enough p arts of the true cross to build several crosses and other gruesome remnants of dubious origin. No one denies this but there is a hope amongst the faithful that some of these objects may be real. At least the ambiguity is documented and discussed unlike the ambiguities in the watchtower.

A little example of how severely the contributions for the Society are drying up
by sir82 injust a little tidbit from the congregation i attend..... the congregation has approximately 120 publishers.. well over 1000 magazines per month are picked up, not to mention all the books, brochures, and tracts that are picked up.. there was a "local needs" part on the service meeting recently, asking for more contributions.. it seems our congregation has averaged just about $300 per month contributions to the "worldwide work" over the past year.. .
assuming 1500 magazines / month, that's just 20 cents per magazine - and that completely ignores all other literature that is picked up.. the last price the magazines had, 20+ years ago, was 25 cents per issue.
with inflation that would have been about 50 cents each now.. just another sign of how severely the contriutions to the society are drying up..... .

Found out from hubby that we were one of the highest contributors at the hall and we had a monthly direct debit it the society. The elders actually made it a condition of appointment that brothers set up a direct debit for monthly contributions.
The society has a lot of schemes for recovering deficits and although some congregations are not pulling their weight you probably find that he poorer ones are. The number of articles on donations etc makes a lie of their claim that they never ask for money.

I am being slandered in public by a JW
by kurtbethel ina self professed jw has slandered me in the comments section of a youtube video i have posted.. he has called me a "stupid apostate" and accused me of causing violence against jws, both of which are false slanderous lies.. i am not complaining about this as i am thick skinned and know to expect this sort of response from critics when i put my stuff out before the public.
i am sharing this so that everyone can see an example of the sort of hateful behavior recent watchtower articles have spawned.. .

Nothing wrong with the video if they feel uncomfortable about the material presented then perhaps they need to think about the religion they are following and not the person bringing it to their attention.

Being Transgendered
by mariemcg inhi my name is marie.
i was brought up in the truth from birth being born xy.
i went through torture as a child being born this way and apearing female in every way, even wearing boy clothes.. at the age of 15 years old decided that going through the amendment of my gender identity was a must and sought medical adv at the earliest oppertunity... this lead to me being thrown out of my home at the tender age of 15.... as time past they accepted me as their daughter a few months later.. thanks to jehovah as i was getting involved in a lot of bad things to keep a roof over my head.. at the age of 20 they paid for my surgery for which i've never looked back from and feel so much more comfortable with my body and myself.. i'm quite sure if i'd remained as my birth sex that i would not be here now writing this.. i started going back to the meetings shortly after having surgery and was met with some love and predjudice to the extent of which toilet i should be using and what clothes i should be wearing.... i've started to study again but am afraid of being stumbled again in regards to going to the meetings... after a lot of prayer and considering scriptures like -.

Marie it has been interesting to hear your perspective on things. You are right that not all witnesses are intolerant and judgemental but sadly a lot are and they allow their own discomfort to make them behave badly. However any religion wants you to follow a specific set of codes and rules that require a level of personal sacrifice. What you need to determine is whether the religion has the right to make demands on you and whether they are worthy of such devotion. It is not whether you can make yourself good enough for them that counts but whether they have the moral right to demand that you follow their rules. As you are studying you have the opportunity to gain both perspectives, on the one hand what the witnesses teach and on the other how those beliefs have been challenged.
Christianity was never meant to be a passive accepting faith after all the early Christians all came from other religious persuasions meaning massive upheaval in their lives. They questioned everything because so much rested on the decision they made. Witnesses request submissive acceptance but this is unhealthy and does you a disservice.
What ever you decide and whatever form your journey takes there are many here who can offer a listening ear and a wealth of knowledge about scriptural matters and life experience. Welcome to the forum.

Anti-Apostate blog has fascinating articles, photos and opinions!
by Terry inthe governing body of jehovah's witnesses has decided (oct., 2000) that the positions of president, vice president, secretary-treasurer, etc.
in the legal corporations (e.g., watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc.,) do not have to be filled by anointed brothers.
therefore, all of the brothers that were currently holding these positions, all of whom were on the governing body, have resigned.

We're doing great. We have the Christmas tree up in the front room and have made every effort to move on. My son is in cubs and received 9 badges last night of all he has achieved this term. My daughter is less stressed and busy living a normal life and making friends who don't judge her. I received a distinction in my last uni course and am about to sign up for the last element to get my degree. I would like to move into counselling once I complete my psychology degree since cult counsellors are few and far between. There is a real need out there. Life is busy and fulfilling there is life after the cult.

The brother has become sanctimonious to justify to himself why he betrayed his friends. He has received much positive reinforcement from the elders that he did the right thing and now he is trying to build bridges but doing so in such a way as to say he was right. It is what jws are taught and though sad is what they do. It is great that your family are walking away from the religion and finding a new path. It is a time when love and support of those that truly love them is more important than guilt ridden overtures from those that are still trapped.
