Ok. I'm confused and slightly stunned.

pot and kettle comes to mind. It is the same in the society many men stay although they are miserable for fear of losing their spouse. We often accuse others of our sins and it seems the society is no different.

today something happened that hurt me more than the jwks, more than the shunning, more than my sexual molestation, more than my hellish years at caxton and more than the year i've just had.. the moment i was told this, i felt like my insides had been ripped, torn, shredded and my heart squeezed of it's very life.

i put my head in my hands and for the first time in my life let out a primal gut wrenching wail.. my father had asked my gran why she has been treating me the way she has (which hasn't been very nice).

he though it strange considering how in the past i have helped her and given her so much.

So sorry for you. This was a dreadful lie and no wonder you were hurt. I am wondering whether you Gran has the beginnings of dimentia. THey often confuse past and present and the blending of two events into one would be possible. The trouble is they will believe profoundly in their version of reality.

I didn't go and refused to talk to them when they called to give me their verdict. I was deeply disinterested. When they sneaked in during the night and dropped the letters through the mail box they went into the bin unopened with the rest of the junk mail. They didn't even get the address right and I'd been in the congregation for over a decade. If they can't be interested enough to address a letter that important to them then that says it all.

I know very few JW window washers and cleaners

maybe these occupations are quoted to make a point, but it loses meaning when maybe 1% of brothers i know actually has these as jobs..

I was a JW window washer and worked with 3 other JW window washers and in the same congregation knew another 6. There were a lot of us about. In that particular congregation jhanatorial services and window washing were the most common occupations. There are other congregations with fewer cleaners and fixed glass maintenance specialists but I have always know there to be a few.

Does the WT have spies here?

does bethel have spies here that are exempt from the "no looking at apostate material" in order to "protect" the org?

i.e.

their job is to view apostate material so they can find out who they can send copyright infringement claims to?.

Whether they have spies or not faders need to be mindful that this is an open forum that can be read by anyone. If JWs do suspect that you are posting here then they can try to identify you from your posts. So be careful what personal information you divulge and do not share your id with people you do not know and trust. Just speaking from experience.

Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?

one of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.

as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .

i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

I am shunned by my sister she would never spontaneously call me. To be free from the control of the society I had to accept this as a consequence. On balance it was worth it. You have to ask if on balance what is more important to you. For us freedom for our children was more important I would sacrifice my own life and contact withall my JW relatives for them to have the opportunities and childhood I was denied.

IT shows the depth of the contempt that their leverage counts for nothing when weighed in the balance.
