  What a messed up Cult the JW religion is

  i'm reading coc for the first time.

  a governing body that is suppose to be god's channel on earth and led by jehovah's holy spirit could not even change jw dogma even though the majority of those present voted for change.

  there had to be a 2/3's vote of the total gb membership.

  Bane...where is your EVIDENCE? So now Ray Franz is crazy? The fact that Ray Franz was never SUED by the WT shows beyond any doubt that what he said in CoC is true. If it was not, he would have been strung up in civil court by WT attorneys for the rest of his life. They would have drug him through the court system for years just to punish him.

  Of course they didn't, because it would have brought their silly 2/3rds voting policy on doctrine to the attention of many more active JWs, and of course they would have ran for the exits.

  As a Man have your Attitudes Towards Women Changed since Exiting JW's ?

  being raised in the jehovah's witness cult - i saw so many times what would be referred to as " supportive wives " wait after meetings for an hour, two hours, even more until midnight for husbands who met in backrooms meeting to decide on judicial matters if some individual witness was righteous - or not.

  wives of elders were expected to do this to show submission and alleged " respect " for the headship arrangement or eldership of their husbands !

  Interesting to think about Flipper....as a born in I pretty much was indoctrinated with the idea that women were second class citizens. Its really strange to think about now. I mean here are these incredible, intelligent women walking amongst us, and simply because they have another "x" chromosome, they are inferior to those of us with a "Y" chromosome. Absolute BS! Needless to say I now try to have a completely open mind with anyone I come into contact with, no matter their chromosome.

  I remember a few years before I got out a discussion in field service about such and such church now ordaining women. Oh the HORROR! The world must be coming to an end because women are preaching from the pulpit!

  Looking back now its all such silliness, but that goes for all WT doctrine in my book.

  i reject those who adhere to the wtbs as having any legitimate right to that claim and as such this is an example of a language hijack.. .

  Of course they can lay claim to "Jehovah" all they want. It is not even God's name. If they called themselves "Yahweh's Witnesses" I would find it more offensive. Who cares if you want to lay claim to a name that was non-existent 700 years ago.

  For my own I will submit "God's Organization" If he really wanted an organization, don't you think he would have said so, as organization is not found in the bible.

  Help with Doubting BIL

  he is hung up on the fact that he sees jw's as the only one fullfilling the preaching of the good news.

  Are Dubs just getting lazy?

  twice this month i've seen dubs out.

  both times they just totally avoided me.

  yesterday i went to subway and they were sitting on down outside of subway with their rags.

  Its about quantity not quality.

  Get the hours in so you have something to write on your time slip at the end of the month. You can't count feeding the homeless, encouraging the weak (though many do count this as "time") or helping your elderly neighbor with their yard. You can only count WT approved time counting activities.

  The average witness is a reflection of the org. Focused on "numbers" rather than Christianity. As long as the org brags and boasts about their 1 billion plus hours in FS every year, the average witness will be just as focused on their number, (10, 50, or 70 hours a month)

  As long as it is simply about reaching a quota, most will endure the pain of meeting the quota with the least amount of real effort. Bottom line is that they endure the quota because the WT tells them it means they will get into the imaginary everlasting petting zoo.

  Did You Ever Really Listen At The Meetings?

  toward the end of my meeting attendance, i started to pay attention (as best as i could) to what was being said and that was truly the final nail in the coffin.. when you actually decipher the "reasoning" of the "truth", you can't help but see things clearly..

  Interesting question....I have to say for most of my years I was on "cruise control" sitting in the chair but not really paying attention. Seldom was a speaker good enough to really hold my attention. I always thought it was weird when someone would ask me what the public talk was about later in the day and I would have an absolute brain lock trying to remember the title, or even what the subject was. Talk about hypnotic trances!

  Once i became aware of the scam, I paid attention like never before. It was absolutely shocking to see how repetitive the material was! Same scriptures, same loaded language being used over and over! No wonder they have people under such mind control!

  when i was a firm believer that the wts was god's chosen organization, i didn't really research too much.

  never gave much thought to other opinions.

  if the insight book said so, than it was factual.
