Headquarters representatives visit to UK 2015

on sat 25th there will be a 3 hour programme streamed to all congs.
the postscript (not to be read out) instructs congs that haven't already done so, to order the necessary equipment.

Slightly off topic, but do they still rent out hotel venues to have these things? I went to a couple of schools, one at a KH as a servant, and one at a hotel as an Elduh.
I remember the one at the hotel meeting space distinctly, it was right during a holiday weekend, can't remember for sure but I think it was Xmas rather than Thanksgiving. It creeped my true personality out as here were at least 300 elduhs dressed up in cheap suits on a weekend where obviously no business meeting would be taking place. I could see the weird looks that other guest were shooting toward us as a group.
No doubt they booked the space at rock bottom rates simply because there would be no other takers for a weekend right up against a holiday. Simply another bad witness that the WTBTS is too fucking stupid to recognize.

Maybe its true, maybe not. As much time as they waste in prisons with a truly captive audience, there are bound to be converts.
In the end, a person has to ask themselves "What does this mean or prove to me?" For the average JW, its simply another proof that they are in da troof. For the 7 billion humans functioning outside of the walls of the b0rg, its just a silly anecdote.
Conversions to any number of religions happen every day by the thousands, if not tens of thousands. JWs are small fish in a giant ocean.

Your favourite WTS publication?
by LoveUniHateExams ini realise that starting this thread may make me as popular as a ginger stepchild but was there any wts publication that you liked, or at least comfortably tolerated?.
my memory may be deceiving me but i think the greatest man book was pretty good, leaving out the gruesome detail of the crucifixtion and wts doctrine.. also, can anyone tell me the list of books that ray franz authored/co-authored?.

we could be talking about contradictions, such as where did cain get his wife if adam,eve, abel, and cain were the only ones on earth?
the usual answer when they cannot answer will be "well the wt gave false prophecies in 1975".

Agree with sparrow, I think a lot of it has to do with the pressure cooker of JW life combined with the fact that JWs are fenced off from any other viewpoints by constant association with each other.
Do that for 30,40 or 50 years and you start to develop a lot of people who are completely disconnected from reality.

Why do "Awake" vloumes only start at 1970 on computer disk?...interesting!
by Witness 007 inyet watchtowers go way back to 1950's....i picked up three awake volumes 1967-1969 i was struck by the poor science {aluminium is posion}, demon articles and anti-organ transplant articles.
also much was said about 1975 being the end of the system and "the generation.
" it feels like fred franz was writting alot of these which now is plain embarrasing and better left un-published.. .

Is shunning an expression of love or just a place for the shunner to hide?
by cha ching into three people in my family, disfellowshipping / shunning is just a tool the wtbs uses to hide what really happened.... they don't want people to 'see behind the curtain.'.

Shunning is simply 'Information Control' in the cult. They don't want the troops to know what somebody did, only that they did something against the rules.
The fact that they changed the rules in 1981 to never let anyone DA without the penalty of shunning shows they had something huge to hide from every single Jehovah's Witness.
