Heard it for quite a while, haven't been to a convention though in almost a decade.
I think its a cult tactic. Message to the troops that if you want to get up here on stage during the big boy talks you better work your ass off for us. Screw that.
at the assembly i noticed something new and disturbing.
when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".
this puffing up never used to happen?

this is the article that woke me up.
i felt sick after reading it.
then sad.
Another good one...
the following examples are true.
witnessed by myself and many many other jw's of my age generation.. they're examples of a successful fade, and a failed fade and what we can learn from them.. the successful fade.
sister c - she gets baptized at 19yo.
Dudes are more at risk in the religion. Especially if you are a servant or an elder and you wander off the reservation, they will slit your throat and throw you outside if they have even a passing fear that you can influence others in the congo.
hi everyone, it has been a while since i've last updated!
(refer to my previous posts for the full story) here is a quick re-cap: 2 months ago my mother found out that i am living with my boyfriend, she told me i was discovered by an "anonymous" tipper who turned me in for "living in sin".. first of all, that is nearly impossible, the congregation i was in is 100's of miles away from where i currently live.. no one would have ever known i was living with my boyfriend unless i told them, which i never did, i cut off all communication with that congregation in part of my attempted fade which was blown into pieces and discovered.. anyways, my mom tells me if i don't go to the elders and confess like a good little sheep, then she is obligated to tell them.. ( don't see why, i don't even live under her roof ) well i never went to them because why should i?
so they met with my mother and she told them i live with my boyfriend... let me remind you, this was two months ago.. i was told i was going to be df'd and that was that.
If it wasn't sent with a return receipt requested, you never got it! Problem solved
i guess you are guaranteed to survive the "great tribulation" if you don't be a "kevin".
my family members are doubling down on their fervor about meeting attendance.
they are having an effect on some of my wishy washy long time inactive family.
What is curious to me is how JWs aren't going full on prepper. What do they think, that these bunkers/basements are gonna hold 10-15 JWs for months on end without supplies?
But if a JW does take that bunker video to heart and starts his own "prepper" movement, I'm sure the elders would be on their ass for not being out in service and meetings as much.
Course JWs never do really think things thru to their logical conclusion.
the watchtower today says not to think of sex, or to have sexual fantasies.
i'm just wondering... how many people in the hall hearing this watchtower today would be having sexual fantasies?
sitting there thinking about sister hottie or brother hunky ?.
"Don't have sexual fantasies!"
leads to....JWs having a record number of sexual fantasies today! Hell, I bet the married ones get laid at a much higher rate than normal tonight!
my favorite were the ones where they were reading a wt publication in the break room at work, and an inquisitive co-worker, thirsty for spiritual knowledge approaches them.
this leads to an informal witness, which eventually leads to bible study and baptism.. in all my years of working, i've never had anyone show the slightest bit of interest in what i was reading while i was on my break at work.
but as i said, maybe it's just me..
Its not a lie, if you believe it

it seems that when i ask witnesses questions about 1914, they really don't understand the relevance to their message today.
i am told that they preach about the coming kingdom and that they don't preach a message of 1914. if a person doesn't understand 1914 then i can clearly see how showing them the inaccuracies of the doctrine wouldn't matter.
can we compile a list of ties 1914 has to their current beliefs?.
Discussing doctrine with a JW seldom works.
You have to find another way.
just wondering if there was the usual hyped up leaflet distribution campaign this year or not?.
as the convention seems more focussed on an "internal" message to keep witnesses loyal, did they want the public there?.
and what would first time attenders really think if they heard the convention content?
My girlfriend had one put in her door...can't remember the exact wording on it!! Would indeed be weird as hell as an outsider to attend this convention. Talk about your WTF moment.
the kingdom—100 years of freemasonic propaganda.
.
new post on http://jwdoctrine.com/the-kingdom-100-years-of-freemasonic-propaganda/ now connects pinky rings ,freemasonry and symbolism .....
What is with the constant obsession to tie the WTS to Free Masons? Like it even matters!
