This is correct, however I am sure it only applies to the UK

anybody heard about individual congregations being charities in their own right as opposed to wtbts.
so if anyone tries to sue they could only sue the charity they subscribe to and not the society itself?.
i saw something on channel c forum.

last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.
in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?
absolutely nuts!.
Is it possible to scan and post on this forum?

The UK is also included in this supposed mystery
It was very odd. I was assigned to carry out the item last night.
I have the outline if anyone is interested
About 3 weeks ago we recieved the new blood cards for our publishers, then about a week ago, all the PO's in Britian recieved a letter marked Urgent from the Society, telling us not to hand the new cards out but to destroy them immediatly.
No reasons were given.???????
However We were told to still fill in the 3 page document you are supposed to have your doctor put into your medical file, and these were still handed out to each baptised publisher

it appears that all of the french language printing work is returning to france.
it has been carried out at the uk branch for the last few years.
60 french bethelites were told to go back to france to report for duty.. the uk branch now has to get rid of about 100 british bethelites in the next few months.

The UK branch now has to get rid of about 100 british bethelites in the next few months. Quite a few are worried for their jobs
The GB must feel confident of their positions regarding The French Goverment.
Has any one heard of any court judgements going in their favour recently.
It also explains the GB's reluctance in moving the UK Branch to Milton Keynes (see UK Dec 01 KM)
Any thoughts

the wtbs in the uk and all the relevant congregations have introduced a 10 charge for anyone wishing to see their personal files and info held under the data protection act.
information includes publisher record cards, s77 forms, specialised sheperding lists and so on.. i presume that this just applies to the uk.
does anyone know of any other countries that have started to apply charges?.
By the way
I forgot to mention that before releasing any info, all congs are ordered to contact the legal desk at the branch before replying to a request.

Specialised Sheperding - Isaiah 32:1,2
In the congregations confidential file the secretary will maintain the "Specialised Sheperding List". It should have 5 Columns. The column headings are.
Name of individual, Date of action, Members of committee or Elders handling matter, Date reinstated/ Deceased, Action Taken
The Action taken column may contain only one of the following expressions per case.
Disfellowshipped, Disassociated, Reproved, Appeal Upheld, Reinstatement Hearing, Investigated, Unbaptised Publisher reproved, Unbaptised Publisher removed.
The term "Appeal Upheld" refers only to cases where the appeal has been upheld because it was found that there was no proper basis for disfellowshipping action. If the appeal is upheld because the individual was found repentant, though guilty of a disfellowshipping offence, the term "Reproved" would appear in the Action Taken Column
See new letter Sept 1 2000"

as most of you know, i quietly left the borg and moved countries.
recently i heard from an ex jw back in my former country of residence that she had heard i had been df'ed and it was announced at a meeting... can they do this?
if it is true that is!
I understand the last 2 posts clearly,
Yes elders will carry out actions off their own backs to the detrement of others, without love or care. I too have seen enough instances of this.
However official society policy is that no action is taken unless it can be proved that a person has recieved the invitation to the committee, of course this is open to abuse.
In brit boy case if he was out of the country, how could they contact him.
As regards to time limits it is down to each body of elders.
In our own cong 12 months seems to be the standard, although how that number was reached beats me, most likely the wisdom of a CO 20 years ago

In short the answer is No.
If a Judicial Committee can't get in touch with a brother to meet with them, then a brief note is made in the Specialised sheperding List to discuss the allegations made with you at a later date when you can be contacted.
However if the JC do contact you, and you decide not to appear before them, despite their attempts, yes they can go ahead with a disfellowshipping
What can happen though is that individual bodies of elders will make any thing up to disfellowship "thorns in their sides "
In your case the JC would have to inform you before any announcement so you can "appeal"
