Who has made an unforgivable sin against the holy spirit?
by atomant inwe all sin and some sins are worse than others but blasphemy against the holy spirit is said to be unforgivable.what is considered to be an unforgivable sin?

I think the GB's whole point in bringing this up is to make people think they have denied the holy spirit, if they deny that the GB is the FDS. They want people to be scared of committing the unforgivable sin. What they are saying is that if you speak against the GB there is no forgiveness for you. It is just more fear and guilt. -

That whole program is very, very crazy sounding. Do they realize how many times they are repeating the word "loyalty?" -

Which delusion will you choose?
by JW_Rogue init occurred to me while at today's wt study that over 100 people were wasting an hour of their life studiously examining the differences between two delusions, paradise earth and the heavenly hope.
everyone made it sound so serious when in reality it means nothing at all.
either choice is wrong and foolish nonsense.. it was mentioned that mark sanderson found his heavenly calling at very young age.

101 if we include you!
Yep, sadly I was there physically but at least I wasn't straining my mind trying to figure out how all this stuff works. It's much easier when you realize it's all a load of BS. I will be out soon enough.

It was mentioned that Mark Sanderson found his heavenly calling at very young age. The speaker said that this shows we can't question those who partake because now Sanderson is part of the FDS. Or could it be he knew that was the position he wanted all along? Maybe he knew TTATT but wanted some power and control? Those thoughts only entered the cynical minds of the spiritually weak. LOL

"Ones"
by Joe Grundy in(i never was a dub).. this is something which has intrigued me for a while.
i don't know whether it's dub-speak, or us-speak.. it's the use of the word 'ones' as in 'interested ones', 'worldly ones', 'disfellowshipped ones' and so on and so on.. in the 'normal world' we would probably use the word 'people'.. thoughts?.

Yes, I agree it is to separate people into groups. They don't want to use persons or people because they really only want you to think of groups and labels. Sometimes they will even say "Ones who are (insert positive label) do well to ask themselves...(list of questions designed to control with guilt)". This appears in pretty much every study edition of the WT. There is a purpose to everything they write in the publications. -

The memorial beauty pageant
by BlackWolf insince the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!
the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.
in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.

JW Rogue I know a couple of girls like that, super tight skirt with fishnets, tons of makeup, super high heels.
And everyone trying to be so nice, encouraging them to come back to the KH. If they ever did come back though the story would change real quick.

My life as a fundamentalist
by joey jojo inas a born-in jw, i never considered myself to be a fundamentalist.
i always thought we were enlightened, progressive and not 'stuck in darkness' like all the other religions.. i was totally wrong.. as far as fundamentalists go, jw's are probably right up there amongst the front-runners.
no, they do not stone people to death or go on religion-fuelled violent rampages but that's not what i'm talking about.

Island Man, hit the nail on the head. JWs are as fundamentalist as they come but will deny it to the bitter end. JWs do not want to be lumped in with creationist, anti-abortionist, and Jesus freaks. The reality though is that they have a lot in common with those groups. JWs try to present their doctrines as logical and faith in the bible as something that has evidence to back it up. Their evidence is actually quite weak and falls apart when deeper questions are asked. However, there are some people who are already predisposed to believe in the bible and those are the ones they latch onto. -

What's always been funny to me, is that there would always be those girls who weren't really JWs but their family was and they would show up dressed like it was a night club. Then the JW girls would be wearing a tiara and dress that goes to the ankles. You can guess which ones got more attention from the boys LOL -

The Truth is not an ORG.....It's inside of you
by tor1500 inthe truth, the org is the truth...ummm...let's think about that...i was thinking that the bible is the truth & what it does is that it reveals the truth about you...the more you read the bible the more you may see yourself & your actions.
you may be a person who judges people, the bible will show you what's wrong with that...viola, another truth revealed about you.
you may be a prideful person, you read a story in the bible about that...again, it's another truth revealed about you.
