  i finally graduated with my bachelor's degree last saturday.

  i really wish i hadn't taken as long as i did.

  my high school graduation was 30 years ago.

  My pioneer sister called yesterday

  as soon as i saw the number i knew something bad had happened.

  seems my mother (71) has breast cancer in her remaining breast.

  her first time was in 2001. i volunteered my son's services for taxiing back and forth or whatever is needed.

  i was in an used bookstore this weekend and saw a new world translation and some other society publications.

  this made me think, what did others do with their books?

  i gave mine to my mother, 22 years ago.

  Can someone recommend me a history book?

  Finding Armageddon-esque undertones at the Olympic Closing Ceremony

  my dad in particular hasn't shut up about this.. they played john lennon's 'imagine' at the closing ceremony - fantastic song, though the actual message would seem to clash with that of the olympics.. anyway, one of the lines is of course "imagine no religion.".

  well i've never heard such a kerfuffle about a song lyric in this house since lady gaga was bluffing with her muffin.. .

  i like how the only thing they can pick up on for the sunday circle-jerk is a song that was written 41 years ago, the composer of which is now dead, albeit untimely.. .
