i asked "what specifically?".
"the symposiums were great, each segment was short enough to keep you engaged" was the response.. my reply "so the wts is catering for the short attention span tv generation.".
The greatest thing about assemblies was the many hot sisters and getting their phone numbers and making out with them a few months later...possibly dry humping (feeling guilty), but doing it again despite the guilt.
ah, assemblies, lunch hour is like a surreal, fully clothed sex club.
i'm almost tempted to go hang out, spot the "baddies" and take them for drinks after.
let me guess what they're harping on this year:
1) the authority of the WTBTS and governing body
2) the end is right around the corner, stay awake, even though we just bought ourselves another 50 years or so with the generation overlap-dance.
should have seen it coming.
don't want to rehash my personal situation, anyone who's read my former posts will know it.
anyone who cares can look them up and get the gist of the situation.
yes, check your rights. here in san francisco there's a lot of tenant rights where they will do everything before you are kicked onto the streets....and a family house, you're probably in better position than you think. your mom can switch you to primary care giver, etc.
it sucks, but isn't great seeing the jw justifications from the outside and see just how horrid they are. and to be out of that brainwashing.
this month they did an article on the making of thriller and included the whacked family dynamic and jw beliefs, where the elders were about the df him for promoting "demonology".. unfortunately, they didn't describe what would really happen to him if he was dfed.. then i realized, his family was so greedy that they would use the b---s---, 'we're in business together', clause from the wtbts.. what was excellent about the article is it showed how naive jackson was to sexuality and asking the questions of a 12 year old when he was an adult.. ---similar to my novel, where when i was in edit mode i received feedback that, a 16 year old wouldn't say that, and i had to let them know that in the jw world, sex was for married people and there was one photo of a woman in her nighty serving her husband's needs, now don't masturbate or you're commiting adultery in your hearts.---.
and since i'm recently single again, it's truely a mindf--- as i try to catch up with civilization.
many friends are helping me navigate these waters of fun, frustration, excitement and not feeling guilty.. check out the jackson article, read b/t the lines like only ex-jws can.
i have a feeling he'll hold back on jw stuff in moonwalk, but definitely need to read that.

okay i've been reading this one lately and so far it's even funnier to me than kyria's book, maybe because it comes from the male viewpoint.
this book is not to be missed!
buy it now.
thanks for diggin' the novel.
i haven't been on the board for a while, but i thought you'd dig this.. it was taped last week at a reading from my novel.
the first part is about the hot girls at assemblies and how we'd sit through doom and gloom talks.
part 2 is a scene where gabe is found out for having a girlfriend.. http://vimeo.com/12066637.
thanks. the novel is still getting great response and i hope to have more news regarding it in a few months.

xjw4evr, you're right on the money re: the title.
and the publishing world, after the novel is written and book deal is signed, is very marketing oriented. they did ask for a small change in the title, which i fully accepted because it was better than the original.
i'm teaching a class on publishing vs. writing on april 6th if anyone is in the san francisco area.

thanks for posting this.
there has been great publicity for the book with links here....boston globe, sf chronicle, etc.
since the reviewer insulted janet fitch in this review, it won't make it on the press page on the website. that's just lazy reporting and her dislike of the sexuallity in the book should've been conveyed with more thoughtfulness as to why she felt it didn't belong.
