All groups claiming divinity to an imaginary being in the sky and demanding its followers to contribute money are cults, but some (ie JW's) are more damaging than others.

Why I think Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult
by whyhideit ini think it pays sometimes to look back at our life with the jehovah's witnesses and review what made the organization a cult.
after all, for years we were told by the society that we were not in a cult and we argued this point in the door-to-door activity.
i found these thoughts on a web-site and i gave personal examples of how i felt and what i saw back in the days of the religion's influence on my life.

i just put my jw husband on a plane to san fran so he can spend the entire holiday week out there, get this, dog sitting his nonjw brothers shitzus while he goes to visit family for christmas.

Farkel, you beat me to the punch! In this case, the title should be "See if you're smart" not "See if your smart". The word "your" is a possessive adjective; so your title implies more to come (eg. "see if your smart cocker spaniel can fetch the paper"). Also, optical tests don't indicate intelligence -- I know some very "smart" (intelligent) people who can't see this screen because their eyesight is so poor.

i think i would have forgiven adam and eve and the last six thousand years would have been a cakewalk.. i wouldn't have had to send down my son to be nailed to a tree and die a horrible death.
i also would have been much more clear in what i expext of my creation, maybe write a book that could be understood by anyone..maybe i would have sent some of my angels down to the babylonians when they were throwing babies in the fire as sacrifices to say don't do that!!

Why were the Flintstones sexualized?

it began with the usual fare of vague nonsense about the ransom sacrifice without any explanation or even justification about how the jw's apparently understand this biblical declaration (as if it is a reasonable belief).. then, after the wine and bread ceremony, it down to brass tacks -- the sales pitch -- if you want to learn more, anyone here would be glad to "teach" you.
