The "hiddeness" of god is a strong argument against his existence.

by smiddy inwe learn from the bible that god spoke to adam ,then certain faithful ones,then after moses only the preisthood that was established,and individuals, raised as prophets,and this by the way is only a a small select group on the planet.never mind about other groups of humans.
fastforward to the era of christ ,again, god is only dealing with a small select group to advise and admonish.during the time from moses to christ he was only dealing with what became one small nation.the rest of humankind were left to their own devices.fastforward down to this 21st century we have no guidance/instruction/prophets to instruct or guide us.
( i know this is where jw`s would say but we have been preaching & teaching you god`s truths since 1879 ) all i can say their, is take your head out of the sand and look at all the changes ,corrections adjustments,re-adjustments,reversals,and failed expectations of prophecy you have published over this last century )so as to my question why hasn`t the god of the universe revealed himself to all humans of every race on all continents instead of just a small select group, if he truly was interested in the human race.

Paul's instructions are intended to be binding on all churches universally. Christian apologists who try to argue it was only addressing a local or temporary matter are clutching at straws. Paul provides his own reasons for his mysoginistic dictates. According to him its because Eve was stupid enough to fall for the tricks of the talking snake. He says she should stay at home, keep quiet and have babies.
The bible is not a suitable guide for life.
Regardless of gender some preachers are well meaning and sincere; many more are parasites.

Varian, I hope you check in on your thread this evening. There are so many people who have been at the point you are at now and can tell you there is a future for you. You will find friendships and purpose.
A few weeks ago you asked about medication, you owe it to yourself to get the help you need. Tell somebody how you are feeling tonight, there is help to get you through this.

How many JW's left after the 1925 debacle?
by middleman ini'm very interested to see how many left because the "proclaimers" book said it was very few.
it's my understanding that there were over a third that left but i'm not sure of this figure.
if anyone has this info it would be much appreciated-hopefully with a source for verification.

I read a lot of Rutherford's writings during the year that I left. It was fascinating to see him go from a sycophantic attitude towards Russell to the point where he obviously had nothing but contempt for him and his followers. Whole books were written that were nothing more than rants linking Russell's followers to some vague OT prophecy or other.
No wonder so many eventually decided they could take no more. For decades there was not a hint of anything encouraging or upbuilding in anything Rutherford wrote. Perhaps drink and isolation in the mansion played a part in his mood?

If I remember rightly was it not soon after the 1925 failure that the idea of "men of goodwill" was abandoned?
Previously it had been believed that "Millions" would survive armageddon, not only members of the Bible Students. There was a landmark Watchtower around this time when Rutherford went hard-line. Essentially it was around then that it took the final step into cult status. From now on it was to be taught that only JWs as they became would survive the big A.
I remember an old sister in Coatbridge in Scotland talking about it when I was a young 'un. Apparently they all found it hard to accept and the majority left. I came a cross a few of "the evil slave class" as Rutherford labelled them when going door to door in the 70s.
Can't remember the title of that Watchtower?
