  yes but look at everyone else that does too and they're much worse.. i'm not even going to mention how badly he defends the un scandal, i'll let you read it yourself.. this guy has your typical "holier-than-thou" attitude.

  I have been reading through Hecters website and i can say with certainty that he definately is not typical in his approach at JW apologetics.

  This guy has heard about every argument there is that refutes the WT doctrines and cover ups not average at all.

  He even has a reply to the 607vs587 fiasco.

  It appears that he has been surfing anti JW sites and reading their literature the guy knows his stuff even to the point where he probally knows as much as some anticultist themselves.

  There is nothing in this thread apparently that I can see that could change his mind about anything.

  I never knew people like that exisited. Mabe hes a relative of Yadirf.

  The new "Generation" doctrine

  could someone explain to me how the generation doctrine changed?

  i know that originally they thought it applied to the generation of 1914 and i heard that it changed.

  i asked my dad to explain it to me but his explanation didn't make any sense to me - something like "a generation can last forever" ???

  I think that you are neglecting to mention the fact that the Watchtower has thought out this change very well.

  I dont have it with me but the insight book has a definition of generation which is much more reasonable than the one you provided.

  If anyone has the insight book on them they will see what I mean.

  The Angry Mob - Here?

  i noticed that non_trias_theos posted a comparative comment about ex-jws and divorcees ... and this raised some additional thoughts given the recent proclaimation that many, perhaps 90%, of the jwd posters are an angry mob, blaming everything on the watchtower religion.

  once they were supposedly happy jws who had that first love and joyfully engaged in meeting attendance and the preaching work.

  Anger coluds judgement.

  It hampers objectivity.

  And the majority of JWD posters definately have issues with objectivity.

  I realised that from almost the very begining so I had to take alot of the information I recieved from here with a grain of salt.

  Also there is very little that JWD posters accuse the JWs of that they donot do themselves, even pertaining to logic.

  If someone calls JWD posters hypocrites they may very well have a point but it has to be made for the right reasons.

  can any of you posters provide some good links to anticult sites or articles.. i've been to ex-cult.org, fom.com and others but i need something more specific.. i was thinking about anything around the lines of an article explaining in detail any or all of the following:.

  1) how cults use decietfull recruting tacktics.

  especially how they put on a show for the new converts but only reveal the true doctrines/attitudes after the recruit is hooked;.

  I've been to ex-cult.org, fom.com and others but I need something more specific.

  I was thinking about anything around the lines of an article explaining in detail any or all of the following:

  1) How cults use decietfull recruting tacktics. Especially how they put on a show for the new converts but only reveal the true doctrines/attitudes after the recruit is hooked;

  2) How clts cause an individual to doubt his own judgement where by the individual is left to believe that the cult leader is always right;

  3) How cults do an excelent job of demonizing their apostates and the practices of their mainstream counterparts leaving the individual whith a feeling that there is nowhere else left to go;

  The last is the most important because i've heard the excuse that even though the group may have made mistakes in the past that no other organisation/group/person is teaching the truth therefore I have nowhere else to go.

  Any links providing a detailed analysis of any of the point mentioned above would be very helpfull to me.
